Module 1 - SLP
Profiling
In the SLP for this course, you will be choosing a local legal jurisdiction to examine more closely (e.g., local police department, county sheriff, or even state police).
If you are a military member, you can choose your service to examine if you wish; however, keep your answers centered on your service. Do not expand to the federal government in general.
For this Module 1 SLP, discuss the jurisdiction you will be examining and then answer the following questions in a 2- to 3-page paper:
- How is criminal profiling used in this jurisdiction?
- In your opinion, Is criminal profiling used effectively by this jurisdiction? Use examples to support your position. For example, is crime increasing or decreasing in your jurisdiction?
