Assignment Overview

This Case Assignment covers the definition and use of criminal profiling, as well as the different approaches to profiling.

Case Assignment

After going over your Background readings and viewing the short video, write a 3- to 4-page paper in which you respond to the following:

1. How can “criminal profiling” be defined, and how is it used by law enforcement?
2. Choose one of the following approaches to profiling below and elaborate. For example, if you choose the first bullet point: What are the steps of Criminal Investigative Analysis? You may use an example of a particular case.

• Criminal Investigative Analysis

• Crime Action Profiling
