We want to assess for patient cognitive understanding of medications and importance of safety when moving around (Giddens, 2017)

We want to also further assist the patient with assessing for pain when moving (Giddens, 2017)

CBC- with this test we can see where his blood levels are such as calcium levels which assist with bone growth as well as protecting the bone (Giddens, 2017)

Arhtroscopy- helps diagnose if there are problems in joints that can be contributing to patient falls. (Giddens, 2017)

X-rays- that way we can see if patient has any fractures present (Giddens, 2017)

Call light within reach- pt can have an easy access to reaching out for assistance. (Giddens, 2017)

Nonskid footwear in use- helps prevent the patient from sliding when walking (Giddens, 2017)

Safety belt in use when walking with patient- helps monitor the patient walk while keeping the patient safe with assistance (Giddens, 2017)

Insulin Glargine - (Lantus) Subcutaneous, 60 units daily is a long acting insulin that is given to patients that have type 1 and 2 diabetes (Rosenthal, 2019)

Insulin Regular – subcutaneous 5 units – 4 times daily- short acting insulin that helps treat patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes (Rosenthal, 2019)

Lisinoril Tablet- oral 20 mg daily- high blood pressure medication. (Rosenthal, 2019)

Infection- can lead to further complications if pneumonia is not taking care of. (Yoost & Crawford, 2020)

Fractures- are further complications that can occur if patient was to fall because patient is an older. (Giddens, 2017)

Nurse assistant – can assist the patient by ambulating to the restroom or walk area, nurse assistant can assist with ambulation. (Yoost & Crawford, 2020)
