Running head: Realization of Martin Luther King, Jr. Dream
Martin Luther King, Jr.
The life of Martin Luther King Jr. was one that inspired many. Today I stand here to give you an outlook of how great the man motivated individuals and continues to motivate them. Furthermore, it is important to note that the fight for civil rights, as well as the spheres of life, was due to his course of action. His outlook was three-fold in terms of the economic, social, and political aspects.
The Americans are seen to be people that were greatly affected due to racial discrimination. This was attributed to both positive and negatives outlooks on people. Nevertheless, through Luther King Jr., the black community got an idea that they, too, can sit on the table. Thus, they were greatly in line with his thoughts more so on racist ideals.
Being a civil rights ambassador, his outlook was about influencing society. This was by showing them the need for unity and shrouding discriminative attempts that continued to affect the black community. He vividly showed us that avoiding discrimination tendencies would lead to development.
Martin Luther King Jr's Ideas
I tell you today that the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. changed the position of various people in society. He was an individual that was outspoken in various spheres of life. Furthermore, he had foreseen the issues that affected the community members. Thus, ensuring that they come up with solid mechanisms and arise from the 1950s issues that continued to affect society.
Most of the circles of influence arose from the congregation settings. This was through the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Acts of civil disobedience such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott that lasted three hundred and eighty-two days was inspirational. He was ready to fight for parity when it came to parity of the races that were present. Thus, he was ready to fight for racial discriminative tendencies. I would say that a plus was that he was equally charismatic and also an intellectual.
Effect of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Ideas
The world gives credit to the concepts brought forward by King. This is owing to his fight for the liberation of African American individuals. Thus, his role led to parity when it came to the enjoyment of rights as individuals. Furthermore, the black Americans were equally people that deserved to be treated equally. Thus, we applaud him to the enactment of the 1964 Civil Rights Act as well as the 1965 suffrage Rights Act. To achieve his mission, it is important to note that he was not working in solitude. This was a result of the various avenues, such as student movements from various geographic locations and public institutions. Also, through focal persons such as religious leaders and civil rights activist's movements, they were able to lobby for correlated race issues.
The Context in Which Martin Luther King Jr. Proposed His Ideas
One avenue that Martin used was the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) union. It was a platform that linked more than sixty religious leaders. Could we ask for more from such avenues? For instance, in the year 1958, he was able to sponsor over twenty meetings. Therefore, leading to the registration of the black American society as voters. Through also his oratorical skills, he was able to move the crowds, thus, leading to a change in reasoning and perspectives. I would like to resonate with the I have a dream quote. It is a slogan that inspired many historically and also will continue in the future. It is a mechanism that made the people come out and realize that they have a role in changing the outlook of society. Thus, through Martin, the individuals started to comprehend that people's rights are human rights. Thus, they changed the outlook of the society from a wholesome perspective; thus, developing a rooted foundation.
The Response of the Government and People
Throughout the world, we are faced with elements of resistance. For the case of Martin, it would not be different. The government was against Martin's outlook. Their perspective was that he was out to fight the system. I tell you today that there is no bad thing as facing opposition. One would like to deal with the opposition forces. Nevertheless, we can attest that Martin's role in the system was positive. If the White population were of the opinion that racial discrimination could lead to development, they could be well placed.
The result has been witnessed long after his demise that avoiding discrimination would lead to development, despite the trouble caused to the likes of Martin, such as arresting him. There happened to be a ripple effect such a person was a public good. Incarceration was no option when dealing with such a person. Thus, they were better placed in coming up with a better mechanism of dealing with the Black community. They martialed support for his release. Therefore, good deeds are seen to have favor on the people that are present.
Communication is seen to be the most effective tool that Martin used—writing letters straight from Birmingham jail to indicate the various types of punishment that he went through. In the quest for fighting for equality in America. This led to him obtaining moral and financial assistance from the black community. In the quest for justice, also Americans joined in fostering equality; thus, they achieved their motive.
Conclusion
Thank you for your attention. I conclude by stating that Kings' Outlook in life led to a change in how the people viewed Black Americans. Thus, his efforts are seen to usher the new USA that was inclusive. For instance, through his role, the USA Supreme Court ruled out bus segregation was unlawful in the year 1956. The dream was realized whereby the Americans are comfortable despite their race.
