Learning Team Charter – MKT/571 Group 3
Overview
A learning team is defined as a group of individuals who work to accomplish mutual goals and output (University of Phoenix, 2014). Throughout your academic journey, you will have an opportunity to engage in learning that will support you in developing skills associated with the University Learning Goals of collaboration, communication, critical thinking and problem solving, information utilization, and professional competence and values. Learning teams involve group participation and discussions; however, the outcome is for the team to submit one deliverable in which every member of the team contributes. While a grade is awarded to each team member, not all team members receive the same grade as grades are awarded based upon the contributions of the team member. Your faculty member will assign learning teams as students will work together to submit one Learning Team assignment.

Create a project plan for each Learning Team assignment using the table below. Determine as a group the Project Plan table elements.

Design a minimum 1,050-word New or Product Refresh Product Launch Plan in Microsoft® Word. The product launch plan will be for two markets: U.S. and one international market. Domestic market generally means the market where the company headquarters are located. If you choose a domestic market that is not the U.S. than your other market is required to be the U.S. Compare your product/service to at least one other competitor. This can be a product/service that is used by a team member in their individual assignment. The competitor does not need to be in both markets, you can have two different competitors, one for each market.
Include the following: · Brief SWOT (emphasizes internal market--Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) and/or TOWS (emphasizes the external market--Threats, Opportunities, Weakness, Strength). · A graph or chart if the team deems it necessary.
Include two of the following: · Definition of product or service. · Description of product or service--marketing message. · Why the product or service needs to be introduced or refreshed (target audience). · Address competition in each region and how the new product or refresh provides a competitive advantage · Evaluate the potential growth rate. Look for information on similar products/services to determine a 3-year growth rate (Compound Annual Growth Rate-CAGR). Information may be in the University Library · Introduction: Note: Charts/graphs/tables do not count toward the word count.

Create—Laura Herrera a Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation, Prezi, or Vimeo video, etc. which illustrates one traditional media option (print, TV, radio, billboard, etc.) and one new (social media) media option for your brand and brand strategy. The presentation should be a minimum of 7-10 slides or, if Prezi or Vimeo video, an 8-minute minimum.
Note: Prezi presentations cannot be uploaded to the classroom. Please provide your instructor with the link to the presentation on the web. Prezi will provide you with a URL link to the presentation.
Discuss in a minimum 700 words the differences between the traditional media option and the new media option in terms of audience, reach, channel and content. ( Evelyn) A table of differences may be used to concisely illustrate the differences, but you must include a discussion of insights/concerns/issues between the media options. (Evelyn) Note: Charts/graphs/tables in your Microsoft® Word write-up do not count towards the word count.

|
Ground Rules for Engagement |
Learning Team Response |
Steps the Team will Take to Address Unmet Team Expectations |
|
Participation How often should team members meet to discuss an assignment deliverable? |
We should communicate at least once a week, unless there is an emergency. (Eve) |
Stephanie: Everyone is responsible for their portion of the assignment. Team leaders will confirm that all members in the group contributed to the assignment equally. |
|
Collaboration How will we work with others to achieve our assignment goals and work through conflict? |
By discussing who will cover what part of the assignment (Evelyn) |
|
|
Communication What modes of communication will we use? Where will we communicate? |
We will use our email, text or the campus video conference, and group team messaging. (Evelyn) . Also, each team member should actively communicate through the team thread and if they have had a conversation outside of the team thread one member of the outside conversation needs to post the context of the conversation on the thread. Substantive responses with research and citations. Please properly cite references |
Stephanie: Email. PM, and Text with no responses in timely manner results in communications to instructor for intervention. If unable to reach via email or text team member will be called, if no respond after second check in has passed with no respond member will be referred to instructor for further actions. |
|
Team contributions What are the expectations for equitable contributions from each team member? |
Each team member will be committed and held responsible for their agreed portion of the assignment. ( Evelyn)
Stephanie - Each team member will take one part of the assignment to complete. Substantive responses with research and citations. Please properly cite references per APA standards. Everyone will be responsible for an equally important part of the assignment determine by the group leader for that assignment |
Stephanie: If a team member is not communicating with the rest of the team and not doing their part of the assignment, then the team lead needs to try to communicate with them. If this does not work, then team lead is to let the Instructor know. |
|
Assignment deadlines Identify the dates in which team contributions assignments are due. (Include dates for draft submission and final submission) |
If all parties agree, we should have all assignments submitted to the lead person no later than the Saturday evening before the due date. (Eve) |
Stephanie: Please try to communicate in a timely manner to the team so that other arrangements can be accommodated. |
|
Other Considerations Include any other special considerations for this team. |
I f there is an unforeseen emergency in one of our team members lives than we will cover for them. Stephanie: We must understand that well all have different schedules therefore we must respect other’s schedules and understand that the due dates may need to be changed if a timely notice is given. |
