Semester Project--Developing a Project Risk Management Plan (500 marks)

As part of the semester project, students will  develop a set of project risk management planning documents  to be discussed in detail in the first face-to-face session. Main tasks to be accomplished are:

1. Students will select a hypothetical project or draw from a current work project and develop a project charter for the chosen project (Milestone 1; submission deadline 02/18/2020 at 11:59 pm; 50 marks)

2. Create risk management documents based upon templates, techniques, and examples provided in the PMI Practice standard for project risk management:

1. Risk Identification, Risk Register and Stakeholder List (Milestone 2; submission deadline 03/10/2020 at 11:59 pm; 50 marks)

2. Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Analysis Report (Milestone 3; submission deadline 04/07/2020 at 11:59 pm; 100 marks)

3. Risk management plan (cumulative) (Milestone 4; submission deadline 05/05/2020 at 11:59 pm; 300 marks)

Your final submission is a cumulative submission in which you combine the outputs from milestones 1, 2, and 3. This submission is the risk management plan for your selected project. It must consist of the following two parts:

1. Part 1 (presentation (submit as a separate file)):

1. Describe  the general approach to managing risk on your project (one slide)

2. Define specific approaches, tools, and data sources that were used to perform the risk management on the project (one slide)

3. Risk categories used and risks identified (one slide)

4. Stakeholder summary--identification and risk appetite (one slide)

5. Result of qualitative risk analysis (one slide)

6. Result of quantitative risk analysis (one slide)

7. Risk responses planned for the project (one slide)

8. Strategies for implementing risk responses and monitoring risks (one slide)

9. Summary and conclusions (one slide)

2. Part 2 (PDF (submit as a separate file))

1. Outputs from Milestones 1, 2 and 3 after incorporating comments from the instructors and any other changes/improvements
