Mission, Vision & Goals
The facility's mission is to improve New York City's citizens' well-being, health, and safety by being a leader in the field and a strong advocate for them. Its main vision is to provide all locals, regardless of their means of support, access to high-quality healthcare delivered with compassion and kindness. To ensure that all healthcare providers can effectively promote and defend the health of their communities, it is also the facility's mission to collaborate with one healthcare system (NYC Health + Hospitals, 2018). The hospital has grand plans to become a fully functional healthcare network that will improve the health of all Americans. As part of its mission to help people who don't get enough care, the hospital has set long-term goals.
State of service
A wide range of healthcare services, including clinical specialties and centers of excellence, are available at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue. It is the first of its kind in the United States. It uses a very good system and has a level 1 trauma center for emergency care. Providing comprehensive, highly-skilled care for newborns is also a part of this service. Neurological care is provided at this hospital, and its doctors give cutting-edge treatment for adults and children with conditions including stroke and epilepsy (NYC Health+Hospitals, 2018). Patients of any age who are overweight or obese may benefit from the hospital's many inpatient and outpatient care programs. Because it offers so many different services, a healthcare institution must follow federal ethics to protect patient privacy while giving clinicians access to necessary medical data.
Stakeholders
When it comes to serving stakeholder interests, NYC Health and Hospitals has been successful. The hospital is committed to improving the health of its patients by encouraging the use of methods backed by evidence and collaborative research. Customers of all socioeconomic backgrounds are served by the facility. With this approach, the institution may show that it cares about the neighborhood’s health. Company policy is to provide services following the federal statute known as the "patients' bill of rights" (NYC Health+Hospitals, 2018).
Alignment with Mission Statement
Target Population
Residents who need medical attention are the company's primary focus. The elderly and the young are among the most common victims, but other vulnerable members of society are often targeted. Diseases including cardiac diseases, psychological disorders, obesity, HBP, and asthma are also a focus (NYC Health+Hospitals|Bellevue, 2016). In order to spread the word about the services they provide and how they may help lower people's risks, the institution has run several advertising campaigns. The hospital uses health marketing as a way to share and create health information that is focused on the patient. Population size, geography, personality traits, and purchasing habits are all ways to segment the intended market.
Market Segments
There are sSignificant differences exist in the populations that the hospital aims to serve. Regarding gender, ladies comprise 48% of NYC Health + Bellevue's patient population, while men account for 42%. Only 1 in 6 patients at this hospital are over the age of 45, and 32% are between the ages of 21 and 44. Twenty percent of patients are black, fifteen percent are white who are not Hispanic, eight percent are Asian, seven percent refused to identify their race, and ten percent are a mix of races (NYC Health+Hospitals, 2018). There are 502,000 outpatient visits, 30,000 discharges and 112 patients who present themselves as emergencies annually at this hospital. Finally, the hospital treats patients from beyond the local area, such as patients from the New York metropolitan region, in a clinic situated in Manhattan. Comment by Paul VanAssche: Whenever you use there is, there are, it is and the like, think to yourself, can it be stated simpler and more specific? For example one might say in the spoken word, "there is more than one solution to solve to a problem". Try stating "more than one solution can solve a problem". You use less words and use more active language by being more precise. Expletive construction used here. By replacing the “this, it, there, they, he, she and that” in a sentence you become more specific and leave less to an improper interpretation. This hospital… use the name of the hospital. Another example… “this method works best”. Which method? State exactly to what you are referring… don’t leave to conjecture or guess on the reader’s part. “The episode of care reimbursement method… Comment by Paul VanAssche: When you discuss target markets, demographics of the geographic area you are to draw patients from is considered, but targeting is different them demographics. Here you look at demographics and psychographics to determine what market your facility serves and who you want to market to. For example.. if 39% of the market is Latin does your census reflect this? if 21% of the market suffers from mental illness does your census reflect this? If not should be you be targeting this group more?
