LEADERSHIP ASSESSMENT

My Northouse observer assessments and the self-assessments in chapters 2 and 4 had a slight difference. As a good communicator, emphatic, and a team worker, these results did not come as a shocker to me (Northouse, 2018). This is because it reinstates my belief in always being optimistic. I am always the kind of person who does not need motivation from other people as I am self-motivated. I have an outstanding capability of creating a vision in a persuasive and exciting way for my subjects. The difference that exists could be as a result of the experience. People who have more experience tend to have mastered these traits and practice them.

This assessment is very significant because I have learned the various areas of my weaknesses and know how to improve them to be a well-rounded leader. This will be very significant going forward in the future as I will work on my weaknesses and know what my strengths are. This was an excellent score indicating that I am doing well in my endeavor to become a good leader. There is, however, nobody who is perfect when it comes to leadership (Northouse, 2018). We always have areas that we must work on. We can still work on the places that we do not score well after assessing ourselves.

I learned various things about myself through the tool. This is very important in helping ease the communication between and amongst the workers; thus, it is easier to communicate effortlessly, passing skills, knowledge, and ideas. This cheers the employees to have good relationships amongst and between each other, bringing confidence in the subordinates and making them trust in the leadership, making it easier to achieve an excellent organizational culture.
