Adventure Game Outline: Flowchart Development
Milestone 1 - Adventure Game Outline: Creating a Narrative
For the first milestone, you will need to create your narrative for your adventure game. This will be a story to keep the player entertained. You may choose from any genre. Maybe you are a fan of mysteries, sci-fi, maybe a fantasy story, or choose something closer to real life.
EXAMPLE
Story genre: Fantasy
Story Location: Narule
Character background (player): A young traveler looking for an opportunity to be a hero
Game Objective/Actions: Travel the land, visit new villages and settlements, talk to people, and learn about the dark shadow cast upon the land.
Outline five chapters:

Chapter 1 Intro |
"It was a cold night, and the rain swept in from the west with a ferocity known only to the gods" |

Player comes across a town; locals tell of a disruption to the north |

- interact with locals (find out information) - take on tasks (gets money/supplies) - stay (rests at inn) - search the north (moves on to Chapter 2) |

“The northern route was shrouded in fog. The only sound was a loud pounding in the distance.” |

- look for a way to cross (finds nothing) - look for a way to descend (finds a narrow set of stairs) - walk along it towards the east (runs into another ogre) - walk along it towards the west (gets bitten by a snake and dies) - go back south (Chapter 2 if the ogre wasn’t cleared; Chapter 1 if it was) |

YOUR TURN
Story genre: Fantasy
Character background (player): A Prince trying to win back his lost kingdom from the enemies and take revenge.
Game Objective/Actions: The warrior tries to build an army, collects resources on the way for example sword, horses, elephants etc. Also needs to find hidden clues that will help him get to the princess.
Outline five chapters:

Chapter 1 Intro |
One rainy night when the kingdom was under attack. The king and the queen gave birth to Prince BAHU |

Scene |
It is raining heavily and the enemies has entered the castle and are killed the king along with this army. The queen used a secret door to run away from the enemies with Prince BAHU. |

Player Actions |
-Prince BAHU has to now learn the skills of archery, horse riding and eventually lead his own army. Comment by Dr. Antonio Tovar: Try creating action that will require the player do get through some thinking or obstacles. - He also needs to collect resources for survival and to feed his army. -The player needs to scout the kingdom to get familiar with the area. |

Chapter 2 Intro |
While exploring in the jungle he comes across a wise man who the prince wants to train from but has to pay a price. |

The prince was looking for resources in the jungle while he ran into the wise man, who was meditating for years. The prince broke his meditation, which made the wise man very angry. |

Player Actions |
Now the player has to make up for his sins by being devoted to the wise man for life. And following everything he asks for in return for training him to take revenge from the enemies. Chapter 3 Intro |
He spends 14 years in the jungle training with the wise man. |

-The Princess left his mom to train in the jungle with the wise man and devoted his life to him. -He spent 14 years learning all the skills to become a warrior. |

- Learn how to use the sword, fight the enemies, Horse riding etc. Comment by Dr. Antonio Tovar: Start thinking how you would code this actions in Python. |

Chapter 4 Intro |
14 years later, he returns home to fight back for his kingdom. |

Scene |
As he returns back home he finds out his mom was taken hostage by the enemies who stole the kingdom years ago. |

Player Actions |
· He now needs a plan to not only rescue his mom but also get back his kingdom and free his people of slavery from the enemies. · He also needs to build his own army |

Chapter 5 Intro |
Now the prince is ready for his revenge and has a plan to fight back. |

Scene |
· He breaks into the kingdom and finds clues to rescue his mom. · He fights back with the enemies to regain his kingdom. |

Player Actions |
· Collects all the resources on the way to help flight back. · Locates the enemy and kills him · Gets his kingdom back · Helps hos people from slavery · And lives happily ever after. |
