Midterm Reflection Assignment Instructions
Overview
Throughout this course you have studied the theoretical foundations of conflict and different conflict resolution styles and strategies. For your Midterm Reflection, you will complete two parts. Part One requires you to identify and analyze at least three different theoretical foundations of conflict that impact a person’s ability to solve a conflict. You must include at least one citation from Barsky and one additional citation from a scholarly journal article in this section. Part Two requires you to identify two conflict resolution strategies you would like to improve over the next four weeks. You will utilize the Midterm Reflection Template provided in the Assignment Instructions folder in Blackboard, and submit to Blackboard.
Midterm Reflection: Part One
Identify and analyze at least three theoretical foundations of conflict that you believe impacts a person’s ability to resolve a conflict. Each theoretical foundation must have a separate paragraph that fully explains the theory and how the theory impacts conflict resolution. Within each paragraph, provide a good overview of the theoretical foundation utilizing at least one in-text citation from your Barsky textbook and one additional citation from a scholarly journal article to support your claims, the strengths and weaknesses of this theoretical foundation, and your personal thoughts on the applicability of this theoretical foundation to you. You may not use any direct quotes unless you are quoting from the Bible. You are required to use correct APA formatting for your writing style and all in-text citations. Some examples of a theoretical foundation for conflict resolution are Needs Theory, Personality Theory, Power Theory, and Behavior Theory.
