Assignment Description:

In a minimum of 1-2 pages, write an essay in which you reflect on your process for writing Essay #1, the Informative Report.

A thesis sentence is not required. Introduction and conclusion paragraphs are also not required.

This essay should use either MLA (Modern Language Association) or APA (American Psychological Association) format. All paragraphs should contain a minimum of 5-8 sentences.

The essay response should consist of the following:

· Explain how you selected the social issue that you researched. How did you choose the specific subtopics that you used to focus your research? Why did you choose those? Why were those of interest?

· Did you find the Prewriting assignment helpful? Did you primarily stick with it for your rough draft, or did you make changes when you began drafting?

· Discuss your research and documentation process. How did you decide which sources to use in your essay? Did you find writing the in-text citations to be difficult? Did you find writing the Works Cited (MLA) or Reference (APA) citations to be difficult? How so? Do you feel comfortable with citations (both in-text and Works Cited or Reference)? Are there specific aspects of MLA or APA documentation that you find to be challenging? Explain.

· What do you think the strengths of your final draft are? Why? Are there aspects of your final draft that you feel could be improved? Why or why not? What were your strategies for revising your final draft? Consider the parts of the draft that you focused on in your revision, editing, and proofreading processes. Explain.

· If you had this assignment to do over again, what would you do differently? Why?

You may use lecture note content or other course materials (available in the Canvas course shell) to help with your response, but do not use outside sources or generative AI for this response. This assignment should be written in first person (“I”), as this is your explanation of your own unique process. I will deduct points if outside sources are included.
