Midterm Assessment: INDIVIDUAL VIDEO PRESENTATION Deadline: 12th March 2021 at 18.00h CET (week 7) Task brief:
You must choose ONE of the following countries and prepare a video presentation regarding the country’s macroeconomic situation:
1. Greece 2. USA 3. Germany
The presentation must be done individually.
The presentation must contain the following contextual elements:
1. General country profile (location, population, currency, what it is famous for, etc.) 2. Macroeconomic situation during 2005-2019:
o Total nominal GDP o Total real GDP o GDP per capita o Real GDP growth rate o Inflation rate o Unemployment rate o Government debt o Trade Balance (Exports & Imports)
3. Focusing on the previous set of indicators, discuss the effects that the 2008 global crisis has had on the country’s economy
Weight: 40% of your overall grade for this course
Formalities:
• Length: 10 minutes • Format: PowerPoint presentation using the record option – record your audio as well as the presentation slides
and save the file with your audio narration! You are allowed to use other video recording options, too. Please check the link How to record a Power point Presentation in Moodle.
• The presentation must be uploaded on Turnitin at ‘Presentation submission point’. • Images/graphs etc. are allowed and encouraged to make your reasoning and arguments more visual and
explicative • References must be added to the end (referencing websites, articles, books etc.) • Harvard’s referencing style is mandatory
