PART I: Self-Assessment
I have learned about my growing confidence and potential of becoming an excellent writer going into the future. The growing confidence is building my skill capacity to succeed in future workplace writing assignments. In workplace communication, the culture of professional sharing of critical information such as organizational and project goals should be protected. Workplace writing requires proper making of key points, relevant information, purpose of communication and remain as persuasive and logical as possible.
Rhetorical decisions have been vital in sharpening my workplace writing skills. My work in this course has been highly significant in showing the best skills to consider and connect with the audience especially the subordinate and technical team within various departments. The official and professional design of the communication remains a vital element to drive the message home and impact positive reaction to the targeted audience. Firstly, a conducive connecting environment should be established at the introduction section. My underlying lesson so far is that every writing assignment - personal or workplace-related – should be punctuated by precision, efficient understanding of the target or audience needs and challenges.
PART II: Progress on my Project Report
My project report is at an advanced stage and so far, the challenge is not overwhelming. The team is always speaking from the same script and this has given all members significant confidence boost. The content and design form a favorable tool for every member to learn the most from the start to the end of the writing assignment and project. My contributions so far are keeping all the members updated on their roles as members of the team and sharing the progress with the instructor. The collaborative process building the journey of a successful project is keeping everyone committed and motivated to deliver results. Despite the inevitable challenges of group communication and sharing information, majority of the members have demonstrated a significant degree of understanding, responsibility and urgency hence improving their ability to work together. One final aspect to share about the group dynamics is the task to remain as purposeful as possible to convey relevant information to the reader in a concise, effective and clarified manner. Dealing with the international audience in marketing requires immense mastery of the active voice, direct message, and avoiding assumptions.
