Each student’s career and/or educational issues can be part of “The Strategic Career & Life

Plan” to complete CMR 495. “The Strategic Career & Life Plan” will work in terms of layered boxes -- working down from the top of the pyramid. The level of detail in the layered boxes

tends to increase as an individual move down the pyramid of “The Strategic Learning Plan.”

1. Create and organize the Student’s: Vision, Mission and Values Statements (use similar

structure as shown in the following slides)

2. Create an Current Issues Analysis issues, risks and plans to abatement the risks (use similar structure as shown in the following slides)

3. Create a SWOT analysis identifying the student’s Strengths and Weaknesses

4. Create a summary which includes the above 3 items. This summary can then be used in

your personal portfolio detailing your ability in the topic of strategic management

Mission and Version Statement

Mission statement:

� To find a job in China that I can feel satisfied after my graduation. Dealing a career that is related to my major or management.

Version Statement:

� As a management level in the company, I will use the knowledge that I learn in Miami University. Take advantages of foreign education background in the ability of speaking English. I will improve the company’s business by using what I studied. Sharing American business concepts to the company and helping company to involve in global business if there is an opportunity.

Value Statement

� 1. International study background provide me some advantages.

� 2. Willing to change depends on situations and respond quickly to changed

situations.

� 3. Have ability to analysis situations, and make decisions according to

different environments. Not fear of decisions and make it into actions.

� 4. I believe what I learn from management can bring company benefit by

using a different theories and process from China.

Project Summary (Introduction)

� Currently, I face the life of graduation and getting into society. I want to find a suitable

job in China after I graduate from Miami University. My goal is to get in a job that

related to management of business. I believe I can use my knowledge from America to

bring benefit for company that I work in. Bring changes to the company and make it

better. Possibility using my English ability to help the company to deal with business

outside of China and explore the international market if the opportunity comes. I’m

willing to change myself to adapt my job and working environment. Enhance my

ability in order to get the job done. I plan to show my efficiency by using theories that I

learn from leadership and management. Make my value to fit the company’s interests.

Project Summary (Body)

� I also faces many challenges before I graduated from Miami University. This semester, I will face a lot of

writing assignment that will due each week. This really stressed me out. I’m not good at writing, especially

writing in English. As a result, I need to use more time on it than other student. This requires me to manage my

time carefully and efficiently. I plan to check each course’s scheduling and do the assignment easier. Do them

only on due date is impossible and this will only increase my pressure. In addition, I also will need to sell my

property before I leave USA. However, I never do a sell before and I have no idea how to sell my property. I

have already started to my research about price and ask information outside. I also plan to post my sales

information on line, this can help me to find the buyer quicker. This strategy can also help me to find a house

for short-rent in the summer. For my academic problems, I plan to send emails and make an appointment with

professors. Ask information about the course and requirements. This can help me to succeed. Another big

challenge for me is to find a good that I want in the future. I want to get in a management level of a company

and deal works that are related to management in China. There are some advantages that could help me in the

competition. Experience of study abroad can help to fill my resume more pretty, and help me get in a global

business company. At the same time, I plan to study harder in school to increase my ability of management and

leadership. Looking for jobs by researching the market in China to gain knowledge of Chinese current

situations. This can also help me to understand the environment in China and make changes earlier.

Project Summary (Conclusion)

� In summary, I will face many challenges in my life in school and out of the school. I have

set my mission, version and value statements to help me to get more understand of my

future puzzles. My strategy is to act easier and be prepare for these difficulties come.

Scheduling well to decrease my pressure on study. Using knowledge that I learn and

resources that I can use to achieve my goals.
