Objective: The purpose of this paper is for you to critically analyze and reflect on MHR 3010 topics and your experiences this semester and identify specific ways to use them to increase your personal success.

Requirements & Specific Instructions:

· Choose 4 “most important topics, concepts or models” (from across the managerial functions we cover: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling). You can choose from our slides, class discussions, videos, and even from your team work experience.

· Integrate those 4 most important topics you chose. How do they relate to each other? How do they relate to becoming an effective manager or supervisor? How will you, specifically, use them in your own life to become more successful? How has your learning affected preconceptions or misconceptions you brought with you into class?

· 2 pages long (single-spaced), using 12-point Times New Roman font. Check your work for grammar and professional language. No typos, no errors.

· Please make specific references to course topics, concepts and materials to support, clarify, and contextualize your ideas.

· Do not simply outline or summarize the material we have covered. I want to know what the material means to you and to your personal development or career. (Major Finance)

Grading

10 – 8 points:

· Integrated 4 most important topics chosen from across managerial functions.

· Analyzed their connection with own life, personal goals and career plans. Shared specific ways the topics will affect the student’s future behaviors/actions.

· Used critical thinking to critique concepts or models, and shared own genuine opinions and assessment of the topics.

· Met the page, font, grammar, writing requirements. Made specific references to the class topics we learned (as opposed to general discussions about management or leadership).

7 – 5 points:

· Integrated less than 4 main topics chosen from across managerial functions.

· Analyzed their connection with own life, personal goals and career plans. Shared nonspecific or vague ways the topics will affect the student’s future behaviors.

· Minimal to no critical thinking or critique of concepts or models. Minimal to no personal opinions or assessments.

· Met some of the page, font, grammar, writing requirements. Made some specific references to the class topics we learned (as opposed to general discussions about management or leadership).

4 - 1 points:

· Listed or summarized topics without integration or discussing their connections to each other or to effective management.

· Did not analyzed their connection with the student’s own life, personal goals and career plans.

· Mere list or summary of topics, with no critical thinking or critique of the concepts/models.

· Met some but not all of the page, font, grammar, writing requirements.
