Distinguish Research Designs in Healthcare Research

The purpose of this assignment is to help you gain an understanding and appreciation for the different types of research designs available to the healthcare services researcher or professional. These research designs typically fall under one of two categories: qualitative and quantitative designs. In some cases, a combination of these designs (mixed-methods) is needed to answer more complex research questions

To demonstrate your understanding of key concepts and applications, you will develop a professional PowerPoint presentation, using Kaltura, for a team of researchers working on conducting a research study in the facility that you manage. This audiovisual recording will be featured on your organization’s website.

After completing your reading and review of the resource materials for this week, you are expected to develop a PowerPoint audiovisual presentation. Your presentation will be assessed based on how well you delineate quantitative and qualitative research designs.

At a minimum, your presentation should contain/address the following:

· Definitions (qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method)

· Framework, model, or table for organizing types of designs

· Application of qualitative designs in the healthcare services field

· Application of quantitative designs in the healthcare services field

· Application of mixed method designs in the healthcare services field

· A slide providing a written example of a quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method research question.

· At least one chart, figure, or diagram

· A list of scholarly references (at least five)

Your report will be scored based on your ability to demonstrate an understanding of important research concepts that you were introduced to earlier this week. Your competency will only come through if you understand the key concepts in this week. For this reason, you are encouraged to take your weekly readings and resources seriously.
