Hello Everyone, it's nice to be back after my 115-day break.
I believe that the various changes in the roles of managers are a by-product of both scientific & technological advancements that industry and our world, in general, are constantly experiencing. Complexities caused by modern day advancements are a reality that the world of business must accept and be willing to change and adapt to on an ongoing basis. It's a natural occurrence for mankind to strive to discover a faster and more efficient way to accomplish most any and every task. With new revolutionary inventions come new methods of operation and management, or as some may say... modus operandi. The operations & management elements of the process have to advance right alongside the inventions themselves!
In closing: The management roles that interest me most are the feel-good tasks that make people happy such as congratulations and rewards on a job well done. The roles that interest me the least are the ones that involve laying down disciplinary actions in response to a job not so well done. For some reason, I personally despise having to be the bad guy.

The context of businesses are changing, such as more women entering the work field. As more women continue to enter into the work field, the role of management is continually increasing. With the social backlash of company’s statistics revealing unequal pay as well as the inequality of women in management roles compared to their male counter parts. This social outcry for equality for women in the workplace is changing role of what management looks like. The flexibility of a work-life-balance is becoming increasingly popular since women tend to have to balance a career and managing the family household responsibilities. As more women enter into more management roles there will be a shift of creative and flexible systems put in place to ensure that the job gets done. An example of this could be telecommuting jobs. Also women tend to possess strengths such as emphasizing interrelationships, listening, and motivating others. These type of strength are important when performing people-related activities.
People-related activities interest me most as a future manager because I believe it is what keeps you employee’s productivity higher. A manager who is successful in this area will be able to easily decrease turn over and have more dedicated employees. Employees want to feel valued and receive recognition for their work, whether is compensation/award or verbal applause. Letting people know that they are supported and they have opportunity to grow their skills is essential of manager and company.
The least interesting role of a manager is the use of awareness of organizational resources. Within a company policies and workflows are forever changing and it can somewhat be impossible to focus on all aspects. When in overseeing a certain department I believe it is important to strengthen the departments workflows. Outside of the department may be out of your control and may consume unnecessary time.

Given today's technologies it's almost impossible for Social Media to not be influential in how we perceive things. I believe Social Media can sometimes be an undue influence, because rather than voicing our own genuine stance on things, given the number of likes and comments, one may feel pressured into agreeing with the majority as opposed to being open and honest about their views surrounding the topic or situation.
Speaking on perception there are many factors that influence how I perceive educational information like the source, my attitude/mood at the time, and whether or not I have a good understanding of the information I am receiving. All of these factors weigh heavily on my perception of any educational information that I receive. We rely greatly on educational information to function in our world so perception is everything.

Our first teachers in life are our parents, we look to them to guide us to the right direction, what to cling to and what to stray from. we take our own life experiences along with others and choose what to acknowledge from each individual. you don't know much as a child, not enough to make you own decision. Therefore that is where your parents come in. As you grown into young adults there will be people, music, social media, lovers, commercials and verbal interactions that will attempt to guide your own judgment, in which I would consider undue influence. I worked with a provider who's influence not swayed my judgment but inspire what I want to be when I accomplish my goals. Dr. Kelley showed me the compassion, dedication and devotion to his patients the way I intend to show mine. I don't feel that is undue influence because if I disagreed with his actions then I would select my own perception to the way he treated his patients
The main factor that influenced my perception on education would be my father. Growing up he did not have the opportunities I have been fortunate enough to have. His original plan was to play football, basketball or even become a doctor but his dad died when he was 12, his mother became and alcoholic and he did not have the financial support nor guidance that I had. so he has to get everything on his own and with that he went to prison. He cannot pursue anything in the medical field as he hoped which is why I was pushed to always go as far as I can with my education. Knowledge is the real power in the world , so take it. He taught me to be grateful for the opportunities that I have been given. Comparing our situations my father is the prime reason why I hold knowledge at the top of everything.

Finding acceptable times to be late was a difficult one for me, because being punctual is something I take pride in and I cannot stand being late to anything. However, for the purposes of the question, I have chosen these times that I thought would be acceptable if I were going to be late to one of these events.
Religious services - you should never be late, Class - 5 minutes late, Doctor - 5 minutes late, Bday party at a bar - 1 hour, Bday party at an acquaintance house - 15 minutes, Library - 10 minutes, Dinner at the house where you grew up - 10 minutes, Movie - never, because it's a waste of money at that point .
The events that are more monochronic are: Religion, Doctors, class, and dinner at the house you grew up
The events that are more polychronic are: Bday at a bar, Bday at an acquaintance, Library, and movie.
My personal view is that you really should never be late to either of them, however, things do happen and it is out of your control to be on time. I personally, get anxiety when I am late to something and being late to anything just ruins my mood. Randy Pausch's time management strategies that I would utilize or have utilized, to ensure my success in an online setting is using a filing system, decluttering your workspace or study space. My biggest thing for online classes is I am as organized as one can get. I think I may be a little too organized if that makes any sense. I say that because, I am a little OCD and I can't start my class or move to the next part of the class until I have made my notes, printed my syllabus, wrote down important contact info., put all assignments in my calendar, and whatever else I need to be organized for the class.

I grew up with the saying "being on time is late". My mom always had us at an event at minimum of 15 minutes prior to start time. Growing up with this system of time management has programmed me to always be early to any event I am attending, Which of Randy Pausch’s time management strategies can you utilize to ensure your success in the online classroom? One of his time management strategies I feel will help me succeed is "Anticipate brick walls and be determined to get over them." Being a new mom and working full time I know that school is not going to be easy but I need to stay determined and know when I hit a brick wall I can do it, I can climb over it and continue to succeed.

Sole proprietor is a business that is owned by one person and the owner is personally liable for the business.
Franchisee is a person or company that operates a business under a franchise.
Franchisor is a person or company that allows another person or company to obtain a franchise license. Overall, the franchisor still owns the right and trademarks of the business.
Independent business is a business that is owned privately by a person or company. Only the owner has rights to the company.
It is reasonable for Stan to provide Subway with his personal balance sheet, weekly sales figures, and inventory reports because is the sole owner of the business and he has an agreement with Subway to operate a restaurant under a franchise agreement. Most, if not all, franchises require the franchisee to provide records in their agreements. This is definitely legitimate for Subway to require these documentations because they want to make sure Stan is operating Subway to make money and not losing money.

Post completing the research for this week's discussion forum and taking into consideration my knowledge of the words sole
proprietor, franchisee, franchiser and independent businesses or independent business owner, it makes sense to me that it is it
reasonable for Stan as a sole proprietor to give Subway his personal including balance sheets, weekly sales figures, and inventory
reports. I believe this due to the fact that it was Stan who approached Subway for a business opportunity and Subway so Stan must
comply with all of Subway's financial requests.
I don't believe it is intrusion for Subway to go into Stan’s private affairs due to the fact that Subway has a standard to maintain and Subway must be able to gauge that standard in its franchisees.
