Overview: Your submission must include evidence of the analysis tools that your team used to make decisions in this simulation. For the simulation rounds in this module, you will submit a Market Position Analysis and a Summative Analysis as your required artifacts.

1. Market Position Analysis: While many companies may be in the same overall industry, firms within an industry employ different strategies and are less concerned about the strategic moves of some companies than others. For example, Nordstrom and Walmart both sell clothing, but Walmart isn’t actively following strategic moves made by Nordstrom. They are concerned, however, with what Target might be doing, as they are in the same strategic group. Looking at your strategic group map in the competitive intelligence report, Nordstrom would be in the top left corner and Walmart in the bottom right. Companies that are in the same general area as each other are following similar strategies and are considered a strategic group.
For your Market Position Analysis, refer to the strategic group maps in the competitive intelligence reports on the BSG site. Include all geographic regions below in which you are competing. Refer to Chapter 3 for more information about this type of analysis.
