Milestone 1: Traits and Behavior Assessment Comparison
MGT 4308: Management Leadership
Milestone 1: Traits and Behavior Assessment Comparison Guidelines and Rubric
Overview: For the milestones in this course, you will need to write several reflections comparing your self-assessment responses to the observer assessment responses. These assessments are important as they not only aid in your understanding of the theories behind the assessments, but they give you insight into how you and others perceive your leadership behaviors and provide a baseline from which you can further develop as a leader. Directions: Step 1: Refer to your Northouse Observer Assessments (and be prepared to submit them with your milestone) Step 2: Complete the self-assessments in Leadership, chapters 2 & 4, which can be easily accessed through the table of contents under “Leadership Instrument” for each chapter. Step 3: Score your observer responses according to the directions in the textbook. For chapter 2, you can also enter your observer responses in the e-book. For chapter 4, you will need to hand score the responses. Step 4: To complete this milestone, be sure to address the following critical elements:
● Compare your self-assessments for chapters 2 & 4 with your observers’ responses. Did they respond differently than you? How so? ● Explain why you think they might have responded differently ● Describe what you can do with this information
Guidelines for Submission: Your milestone submission must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document, about two paragraphs in length, with double spacing, 12-point font, and one-inch margins, and any references should be cited in APA format. You must also upload all of the Northouse Observer Assessments with this milestone submission. Instructor Feedback: This activity uses an integrated rubric in Blackboard. Students can view instructor feedback in the Grade Center.
