Legal Environments and Ethics (12 Marks)
Please answer the following questions.
Questions are worth either two or four marks.
1. List and briefly explain the different Types of Law you have covered in this course. (2 marks)
2. In a legal setting, what does “precedent” mean? (2 marks)
3. Distinguish between Common law and Civil Law. Give examples of countries using these laws. (4 marks)
4. Choose any company and examine its Code of Ethics. What ethical concerns does it cover? (4 marks)

Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility (25 Marks)
1. Using the recommendations of good governance set out in the Cadbury Report (1992) Financial Aspects of Corporate Governance, give FOUR reasons why Saudi Aramco is the number one company in the world?
2. Applying the principles of good governance, namely, accountability, fairness, transparency, and independence, explain in your own words, why the corporate governance structure within Enron failed.

3. Choose any Saudi company and explain how its corporate governance would need to change if this company merged with an American Company. (5 marks)
4. What constitutes Total Corporate Social Responsibility. In your opinion, why is it important for a company to practice good corporate social responsibility. Use examples to explain your reasoning.
