MGT-20136 – Organizational Behavior

How Do I Get Started? (<click for a short video)

1.) Read through the directions located under the Table of Contents and set the stage for your project.

2.) Make sure to take note of the prompts that are in the directions. These will be important to address in your project.

3.) Review the Project Rubric located under the Table of Content to ensure a good understanding of your tasks.

4.) Carefully read the Project Scenario and identify two needs-based organization behavioral theories that apply to the candidate being hired into the company. You will use these two theories throughout your analysis and proposal to discuss the anticipated outcomes and challenges at each level of the organization, possible interventions as well as the ethical considerations.

The 1 deliverable for the ​MGT-20136 Organizational Behavior ​competency is:

Organizational Behavior Report – This report has 2 major sections – The Analysis and the Proposal. Both need to be included in your report.

1.) Analysis:

a. Describe in detail your process for applying 2 organizational needs-based behavior theories as it relates to the candidate.

b. Determine the anticipated outcomes or challenges at each level of the organization for each organizational behavior theory that you applied. Consider how the individual, group, and organization are motivated and what behavioral changes are likely to occur by hiring the candidate.

2.) Proposal:

a. Recommend interventions to ensure new-hire and organizational success for each behavior theory you applied. Consider the following:

b. How can your manager motivate and support the candidate and team members?

c. What emerging trends currently exist in organizational behavior management?

d. Describe the limitations, risks, and ethical considerations of applying behavior theory to inform decisions.

e. Explain how recommending interventions impacts organizational performance. Consider the concept of an open system.

· Pick two Organizational Needs-Based Behavioral Theories to analyze the candidate and describe why you chose those theories.

· Determine the anticipated outcomes or challenges at each level of the organization for each behavior theory that you applied.

· At minimum, two anticipated outcomes or challenges should be described for each behavior theory regarding each level of analysis: the individual (candidate), the group (team), and the organization (company), how they are motivated and the behavioral changes that are likely to occur when the candidate is hired. (Note we will accept 1 challenge and 1 outcome, 2 challenges, or 2 outcomes for each of the 2 theories.)

· Recommend interventions to ensure new-hire and organizational success for each behavior theory you applied. Consider the following: How can your manager motivate and support the candidate and team members? What emerging trends currently exist in organizational behavior management?

· Using the two needs-based theories you applied above give multiple examples (at least two for each theory) of how your manager can motivate and support the success of the team.

· Describe the limitations, risks, and ethical considerations of applying behavior theory to inform decisions .

· Applying organizational behavior theory in the workplace has some drawbacks. What are some limitations, risks, and ethical considerations of applying organizational behavior theory when making informed decisions? The proposal describes at minimum 2 limitations, 2 risks, and 2 ethical considerations of applying behavior theory to inform decisions.

· Explain how recommending interventions impacts organizational performance. Consider the concept of an open system.

· Explain how open systems are used

· Provide 2 supporting statements that highlight how recommended interventions impact organizational performance
