Methodology

Research design

The study will utilize mixed methods whereby both qualitative and quantitative methods will be used. Quantitative research method is used in numeric data which include the closed ended questions while qualitative method is applied on non-numeric data that is the open ended questions (Sreejesh and Mohapatra 52)

Sampling technique

The sampling technic used by the researcher is simple random sampling technique. This method is appropriate because it provide the elements in the population equal chances to be selected in the sample and reduced cases of biasness (Etikan 6).

Data collection

The researcher will use primary data to carry out the study whereby questionnaires will be provided to participants. The information obtained from the participants will help the researcher is carrying out the survey.

Data analysis

The researcher will use statistical method, which is the correlation method to analyze the data obtained. Narrative method will also be used to analyze the information provided by respondents in open ended questions (Liu 36).

Ethical Considerations

Ethical consider as an essential factor in carrying out the researcher. The respondent will be informed not to include any personal detains that may lead to their identification. In addition, the data obtained will be used for this study only hence confidentiality will be maintained.

Results

There were 100 participants whereby 36 were between 18 to 30 years, 32 were aged between 30 and 44, 18 were between 45 and 60 while 14 were over 60 years. Among the responded 48 were male while 52 were female. The marital status of the respondents who were grouped into single, married, windowed and divorced/separated categories recorded 18, 36, 14 and 32 respectively. Among the responded 56 participant had experience domestic violence in their life time either during their childhood or in front of child at least once in their lifetime. Family therapy is one of the initiatives the parents should considered so that the existing issue are solved without engage in violence they have along terms effect to the development of the child.
