MEMORANDUM FOR: Incoming Auto Techs DATE: January 23, 2019 FROM: Auto Tech Field Manager SUBJECT: Tire Change Process Provided below is the procedure on how to change a tire on your car when you encounter a flat tire situation. Needed items and tools:

1. Replacement Tire 2. Car Jack 3. Vehicle 4. Lug Wrench

After you gather the necessary items, you can proceed to changing the tire.

a. Loosen the lug nuts by turning counterclockwise with the lug wrench (make sure the tire does not spin). Do not remove the lug nuts completely.

b. Place the car jack under the vehicle, positioning it on the metal frame of the vehicle for a solid lifting point. Crank the jack in the upward direction until the tire is lifted off the ground. The jack has an insert able rod to help with turning the jack, you will notice that when the jack is turned clockwise, it lifts, but when it is turned counterclockwise, it lowers.

c. Finish removing the lug nuts, placing them in a pile out of the working area, where they will not roll away or get lost. With the lug nuts removed, take the tire off the vehicle.

d. Put the replacement tire on the vehicle, aligning it with the exposed lug bolts. With the tire in place, pick up your pile of lug nuts.

e. Tighten the lug nuts back on to the bolts to secure the tire using the lug wrench and turning clockwise.

f. Lower the vehicle back to the ground by turning the cranking jack counterclockwise. To ensure your safety, take the lug wrench and complete step e. once again to avoid your tire coming off while driving.
