Subject: COVID-19 vaccination, and Infection and Death Rates Analysis
COVID-19 has been global challenge in the last 2 year. From the time of its outbreak the disease has claimed several lives from people across the world. Thanks, the vaccines were introduced that has reduced the infection rate and the death rates. However, the disease causes a lot of controversy that made many people to think before getting vaccinated. We have seen many organizations making it a require for their employees to get vaccinated and other went ahead to terminate jobs from those who did not want to get the jab. The workers in the Grocery Union workers of America feel that it is their right to get vaccinated or not and do not want to be compelled by their organizations. I have analyzed data from different areas on COVID-19 vaccination and infection rate that can help the case determination of Grocery Union Workers of America.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released the data on the rate vaccination, cases, and deaths for the last one year. as per their data the rate of infection has drastically dropped for who are vaccinated in the last 1 year, while has risen for those who are not vaccinated. The same data indicate that death rates have risen for the unvaccinated individuals as compared to those who have received their vaccines.
The vaccines uptake has been improving from the time they were introduced. Also, with the break through different types of vaccines have been introduced to boost the vaccines uptake. The CDC data shows that number of individuals seeking vaccines have increased exponentially in the last one year. figure shows the number of vaccinated individuals per age group. Individuals of age between 30- and 49-year-old lead in the number of those who are vaccinated. These are individuals that are in active work force indicating that most organization require their employees to have received the vaccines.
Figure 1: number of vaccinated individuals per age
Most of the vaccines require individual to get at least 2 jabs and possible boost for the body to fully develop immunity against the virus. There are different vaccinas that people have taken in the last one years. All the vaccines are recommended by the department of health and are fully effective. However, people seem selective on the type of vaccine that they want. Figure 2 shows the rate of uptake of the different vaccines that the department has recommended in America. Most of the people on which the data was taken took the Moderna vaccine.
Figure 2: Uptake of the three vaccines in America
The department of health through CDC took the data of the vaccinated individuals from different people who were vaccination. All the data were recorded from the individual for statistical purposes and plan on how the government was prepared to flatten the curve. This data is relevant for the case because it gives information for the different rate of vaccines uptake, the demography of the vaccinated individuals, and the type of vaccines that most individuals want. Through the analysis of the data one can determine the rate of infection and the death rates linked to the COVID 19. The information can thus help in determine the rights of vaccination of the Glossary Union Workers of America
