Branding strategy and market communication plan are the essential part of any organization. An organization’s complete business depends on these two parts. Branding strategy help us to hit the exact market where there is demand for the product of the organization. Market communication plan help us to stay connected with the customer and get their feedback on the product.

Domestic market

Vision and Mission

Apple Inc. corporate vision and corporate statement are always interlinked to each other. Despite the challenges Apple Inc. has faced in such competitive landscape Apple Inc. has always pushed itself to be greater than ever. Keeping in mind the variety of the industries business operates it is essential that the diversity of strategic approaches for these industries be embodied in the corporate mission and the corporate vision. Apple Inc. vision statement is all about the business efforts toward a future leadership in global market. Although Apple Inc.’s mission has been changed over the time but Apple Inc. has pushed himself too hard to see the possibility of this organization.

Strategic Objective

Apple Inc. strategic objective is to take part in the growth of American economy by partner shipping with private sector and non-government organizations. Apple Inc. believes in advance responsible economic growth and trade while protecting American security. Apple Inc. is to enhance the supply of key economic and demographic data to support effective decision-making of policymakers, businesses, and the American public.

Values

Apple provide the values which are traits, customs, excellence, and rules that the organization believes will help the company and its employees succeed. They are the basis for what Apple Inc. do and how they do it.

Market Segment

The market segmentation of Apple Inc. can be described in one word. The word is called Empathy. Empathy is to feel for another person because you have went through the same once, to understand them and get emotionally attached with them, get deep into their innermost desires and wants and give them something that is of great use for them to the point that they practically cannot live without it. Apple uses the strategy where they give their users something so good that the user won’t even think about changing the brand of mobile. (Lane, Miluzzo, & Lu, 2010)

In 1980 Apple Inc. vision was “To make a contribution to the world by making tools for the mind that advance humankind.” That describes the Apple Inc. commitment not only on domestic level but also how they plan to penetrate the global market. The mission statement of apple for the global market is to reinvent the mobile phones with its revolutionary iPhone and app store. These unique products of the Apple Inc. have defined the future of mobile media and computing devices with iPads.

Strategic objective

Apple has become increasingly global. Its target market was the U.S.A customers with the products to primarily aim towards educational and home use. Its increasing sales and popularity in market resulted in a transition from being U.S.A centric in manufacturing, assembly, and sales to being global. The biggest example in the strategic objective success is UK where Apple Inc. has become the leading phone company.

Values

The core value of Apple Inc. is that people who believes in themselves and have the courage to do something can change the world for good.

Market Segment

In the past Apple Inc. focused on strategies that took different approaches such as high growth in the personal computer industry it was a leader from 1976 up to 1982. However, Apple Inc. adopted strategies at a more corporate and business level. Apple Inc. is a full integration company that concentrates on the company´s designs, having developed its own operating system (IOS), hardware, applications and services. However, these strategies have changed in many ways; one of them is that the company depended on a limited number of suppliers for each of its components. In this early stage, Apple Inc. also adopted a differentiation strategy therefore; Apple Inc. aimed to develop and send to market various types of products that only they could provide. (Nagaraj, Patterson, Thacher, & Schildhorn, 2013)

Maintaining brand Image

Apple Inc. has maintained the brand image very successfully by its unique user-friendly interface. Over the years Apple Inc. did not change their interface making the iPhones’ unique among another mobile brand.

Brand Concern

At the launch of iPhones’ 8 there were some concern about the Apple Inc.’s iPhones. The biggest brand concern was their battery size. The size of the battery was not defined properly with its new chip set. Also, Apple Inc. is all about new ideas but over the years in iPhones’ only up graded technology was observed but no new concept.

Advertising strategy

Advertisement of Apple Inc. has always been unique and effective from day one. Apple Inc. Use demographics which take the huge advantage in advertise of the Apple Inc. Apple Inc. also launch only limited number of iPhones’ that also increase the demand of the iPhones’ and successful advertising tactic.

In international market iPhone is considered to be rich people device. The brand has maintained its uniqueness and grace among other mobile phones in the market. By keeping the right amount of price Apple Inc. successfully become the trend or fashion for its body and shape in the international market. Apple Inc.´s design and brand also provide it with a very good reputation, thus a good name in the industry. This brings Apple Inc. benefits such as, recognition in the international market. The brand and name recognition did not only start from the global brand Apple Inc. is today. Of course, some of the credit, if not the majority, comes from what Apple Inc. was able to accomplish after the years with its unique and diverse products. Apple Inc. has always been considered unique, the name of the brand itself, is not related to the creators name like some products we know and use such as Heinz or M&Ms which is the last name of the founders, but it is in fact named after its CEO´s favorite fruit, the Apple Inc. (Pinto-Cardoso, 2016)

Brand Concern

The biggest brand concern of iPhones’ is its battery time. The concern was higher when Apple Inc. publically admitted the battery issues. The brand concern than spread in the global market and it affected the popularity of iPhones on global scale significantly. Apple Inc. later offered its user to replace battery in Apple stores to maintain the brand name.

Advertising strategy

Their main strategy is to be the global leaders and make sure no one is as close to them in weather the launch of a cellphone or in spreading the news about some new features globally. As of December 25, 2010, the Company distributed iPhone in 90 countries through 185 carriers. In January 2011, the Company announced plans to expand U.S. distribution of iPhone to the Verizon Wireless network beginning in February 2011. (Apple, 2011) No other cell phone manufactures cooperates in these many countries and with such spread carriers.
