Psychology Research in the Media

writing a reaction to a media article that discusses psychological research findings. Read an

article from a newspaper or watch a video clip from a news report that discusses a psychological

research study and its findings. Then, look up the study (try searching in Google Scholar) and

check to see whether the media report accurately portrayed the study’s findings. Write a reaction

paper that explains whether the media report was accurate or not, what information or limitations

were excluded, and whether anything was incorrect in the media report.

Your paper must be at least 2 pages long, double-spaced, 12-point plain font (Times New Roman

or similar), with 1-inch margins. Please include an additional page with your references, which

should be cited in APA style. Don’t forget to include in-text citations as well. Please do not use

direct quotes in your paper.

Psychology Today.

___ Accuracy of media conclusions are checked against the study conclusions

___ References are cited appropriately in APA style (note that you must cite both the

media piece and the research study)
