Mean Nurses Reflection
1) Choose a scene/clip from television, a movie or Youtube depicting incivility/bullying in the nursing profession.
2) To assist, look for scenarios that show any:
· Leadership/management styles in nursing and a situation where it was ineffective or inappropriate
· Violations of ethical principles in nursing
· Conflict, incivility or bullying within the nursing profession.
3) Students are then required to submit 4 pages (including cover page and reference: 1 title page, 2 pages for body of the paper, 1 reference page) addressing these issues and concepts. Please utilize the grading rubric below. Include information from the readings regarding TeamSTEPPS, CUS, and incivility. APA guidelines apply, but you may use first-person.

REFLECTION |
Reflect on this learning experience. Some questions to consider include: How did you feel watching the scene? What would you tell these nurses, UAPs, hospital staff if they asked you for advice? How would you have reacted as a nurse in these situations? What would you do if confronted with a similar situation in the future? As a nurse manager, how would you address or prevent similar dilemmas? As this is a personal reflection, keep in mind that this list of questions is not exhaustive. You might not answers all of these questions; you might address other questions not listed. |
