Abstract

in this project we are going to deal with body-building equipment ( body solid bicep / triceps machine ) so we will be able to analyze all forms of stresses and deformations in the structure, we will draw the sketch of steel arm ABCDEF and indicate different forces and moments. Also, define the maximum force that the athlete can apply at both handles with defining the materials used in the arm. And we will consider the structure as fixed at portion EF and apply required stress analysis at the design critical points by determining in all the members. In Addition, we will select the maximum normal and calculate the factor of safety of the machine. Finally, we will be able to explain how each member have contributed in Gantt Chart.

Introduction

‏ Sports equipment is highly user-centered to improve the sporting performance of an athlete, so when we design any sports machine, we have to design all the components of the machine properly. In this project, we are required to analyze the body-building equipment (body solid bicep/tricep machine). And we should apply stress and deformation analysis to evaluate and calculate the maximum stress, deformation, and the factor of safety.

We made a meeting to discuss in details the project with the members of the team, and selected “Zainab” as the leader of the group, and Maram and Anwar as members of the team. Also, the tasks were issued in the following table:

Meeting purpose and setup:

We made a meeting to organize our teamwork and to clarify what each member of us is going to do in this project and which task are we going to deal with. We made deliverable (1) in 1:00 PM because there was enough time to work with the project. Zainab is the group leader and she will describe the problem of this project while Anwar is going to research data. And Maram is going to deal with sketching the arm. Lastly, calculations will be a team work between us because it will need more time than the other tasks.
