CHAPTER HEADINGS Each chapter should have a title. You may choose to also use numbers. Headings (or sub-‐headings) within a chapter may help the reader better understand the structure.
ABSTRACT Your paper must include an abstract, consisting of 100-‐150 words, which provides readers with an overview of the content of your paper. It is important that your abstract clearly states the purpose of your paper and summarizes the content. Do not use first or second person (I, me, my, we, us, our, you…). Instead use “this paper” or “the authors”.
INTRODUCTION Describe the general perspective of the paper. End by specifically stating the objectives of the paper including the framing of the research question.
BACKGROUND/LITERATURE REVIEW Provide broad definitions and discussions of the topic and incorporate views of others (literature review) into the discussion to support, refute, or demonstrate your position on the topic.
MAIN FOCUS OF THE PAPER
Issues, Controversies, Problems Present your perspective on the issues, controversies, problems, etc., as they relate to theme and arguments supporting your position. Compare and contrast with what has been, or is currently being done as it relates to the paper's specific topic.
Methodology and Analysis You must explain the research methodology that you will be using in your paper. Where applicable the dissertation ought to include empirical evidence, this can be quantitative and/or qualitative evidence.
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS You must interpret your findings and summarise these in the concluding section/chapter. Where applicable relevant solutions and recommendations ought to be provided. Reflect potential business application.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH Discuss future and emerging trends. Provide insight about the future of the dissertation theme from the perspective of its focus. Viability of a paradigm, model, implementation issues of proposed programs, etc., may be included in this section. If appropriate, suggest future research opportunities within the domain of the topic.
REFERENCES References should relate only to the material you cited within your paper (this is not a bibliography). References should be in Harvard reference style and listed in alphabetical order. Please do not include any abbreviations. Any additional references should be included in an Additional Reading section.
