Building Family and Community Relationships

It is critical to build important relationships with parents so they feel welcomed and trust builds.
Building Family and Community Relationships How will I do that?
● Sending home daily sheets to tell the parents how their child’s day was
● Having events where parents are involved
● Ex: muffins with mom or donuts with dad
● Incorporating family traditions into lesson plans
● Keeping updates with parents throughout the day
● Talk with parents ● Surveys
Assessment ● Creating a portfolio for each child with monthly goals
● Create individual goals and classroom goals
● Ask the parents what they would want their kid to work on
● Hang up the goals on a board in the classroom to be reminded
● Be patient and work with the kids at their individual pace
Assessment It is important to always keep your classroom motivated. When goals are reached, accomplishments are made, leaving the child and parents with a big smile.
Promoting Child Development and Learning
● Raising self-esteem in the classroom
● Environmental affirmations (pictures, posters, artwork) in the classroom
● Using different teaching approaches and strategies to keep learning interesting

Promoting Child Development and Learning
The environment the child is in plays an important role in their learning. When there’s pictures and posters full of colors or animals, the child becomes interested. The different approaches a teacher takes to teaching will keep the classroom engaged. Having a routine is also something a child will learn from and become used to.
Creative Curriculum

● Small and Gross motor areas (blocks, art, table toys, house area, music, books, and sensory)

Creative Curriculum
The creative curriculum helps children with their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. It also helps children learn self helpful skills that will prepare them for adulthood. Playing with table toys or blocks will promote fine motor skill growth. This curriculum also helps teachers adapt to environments to make learning more challenging.

Professionalism As a teacher, knowing the background of your occupation is important. You are knowledgeable on your profession and what comes with it. Applying the state regulations is necessary. It makes you a credible teacher and shows that you keep your classroom safe. Finding a teaching method that best suits you will help your classroom flourish. Creating a bond with the children and parents will grow trust between all, making teaching a great experience.
