Station 2: Drop it like it’s Hot!

Drop it like it’s Hot!

Materials:

Chair

Book

Black Paper

Ball

Crumpled paper

Flat Paper

Procedure:

1. CAREFULLY, stand on the chair. From the same height, drop each item one at a time.

2. Drop the book and Black Paper at the same time from the same height.

3. Drop the ball and crumpled paper at the same time from the same height.

4. Drop the crumpled paper and flat paper at the same time from the same height.

5. Mix and match the items and drop them from the same height and same time. Make observations about the drops.

Write a brief overview of the instructions at the station, so you will remember what to do during your activity.

What causes the objects to fall to the ground?

Which objects hit the ground first (fall the fastest)?
