One of my experiences with an organization that provided value is Apple’s Mac Studio. I have been a freelance photo and video editor for almost three years. Within my first year, I did not make much out of it but over the course of time, it has become one of my biggest sources of income. In the recent event of Apple, I watched the advertisement that Mac Studio was launched specifically for content creators, video editors or photo editors. I was quite fascinated by the features and presentation of Mac Studio. Apple did a great job on both Mac studio and explaining the features that grabbed my attention to buy it.

The impact of Apple's content marketing strategies was positive and effective. Apple’s session was quite interactive and they cover all aspects of Mac studio features. They further identified the problems that many freelancers face in creating content and editing videos and photos. They have upgraded the Mac Studio for running Adobe premium, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and heavy software that are needed to enhance the value of its customers. I bought Mac studio specifically video editing and Photoshop so that I can finish my workflow in an effective and timely manner.

It has been observed in the research by Barutçu (2017) that “Big data and analytics can help a business predict consumer behavior, improve decision-making across the board and determine the ROI of its marketing efforts”. The company would be able to protect its market share as well as expand into new areas if these issues were appropriately addressed. Marketing data and analytics can facilitate organizations with becoming more proactive and adapting changes, reducing the risks and frauds, developing relevant products, personalising the service and products and improving the customer experiences (Gandomi & Haider, 2015).

Content marketing is communicating and engaging with your customers without overtly selling to them in a way they often welcome. It focuses on building customer relationships to encourage future sales, not just immediate ones (Emerald Works Limited, n.d.). One experience with a company that provided value to me through its content marketing effort involved an entrepreneur, Jocelyn Delk Adams, who shares her family recipes through her website Grandbaby-Cakes.com.  Jocelyn frequently posts videos of her cooking and baking, and early this year started a monthly cooking/baking challenge. She supplied email subscribers with a monthly recipe. The rules were simple: 1. Make the recipe! 2. Snap a photo 3. Upload the photo to the Facebook group or Instagram using provided hashtags before the end of the month. Participants who complete all the steps are entered into a drawing for a prize. For an additional entry for the giveaway, participants are encouraged to leave a review or rating of the recipe.

Impact of Content Marketing

This is a very clever way to get more people to try her recipes, engage with her blog, join her email list, and purchase other merchandise and cookbooks. Although I was too busy to participate at the time, many people did, and I would imagine that her following and sales grew. Additionally, when I got a chance, I would go back and try some recipes she sent out for prior challenges. I’ve followed this entrepreneur for a while now and find her content engaging. She seems so familiar and relatable; there is something very endearing about how she talks about her family and the recipes that have been passed down through the generations.

Marketing Data and Analytics

I am sure marketing and data analytics have contributed significantly to my decisions as a consumer. I love to cook and bake, so it is not surprising that I frequently see ads for kitchen and baking supplies. As a black woman, I frequently see ads for businesses that sell or cater to African Americans, from hair and skin products to makeup and cosmetics. I don’t think that any of this is by chance. When we engage with the content, we are more likely to see similar ads and content in the future.
