Hello everyone,

In your own words, analyze how marketing affects the decisions consumers make.

Having marketing is having good communication. It is useless to have an excellent brand if individuals are not aware. Marketing is having multiple techniques, like communicating the image to potential customers, which will make it good communication. The way marketing affects the decisions consumers make is by the goal of the marketing department is to gain market share, which will be used to recruit and keep new clients. A marketing department's primary goal is to gain market share by recruiting and maintaining new clients. Consumer behavior may be observed, analyzed, and managed in the most effective way possible. Customers' purchasing behavior is significantly influenced by frequent marketing initiatives. They chose one brand over another just because the first's advertising was more widespread. Another example could be, when I go to receive a car wash, they always offer me a wash card. This wash card allows me to wash my car for a year, which will produce the urgency to wash my car often. It is important to analyze if it is worth getting the wash card.

To support your analysis, identify two or three examples of marketing.

The first example of marketing is Search Engine Marketing. This considers being another method of marketing services, which helps create a website that is the top search. It will be beneficial for the customer to go into the web browser and type the result of what they are seeking that has a lot of options. It is beneficial to have the page at the top of the result because individuals look back at the previous website. Having a well-designed site with information customers are looking for is an efficient strategy that will make your website recognizable. The second example of marketing is Meeting Customers at Trade Shows. It is business-to-business marketing that is being used by entrepreneurs searching to carry their goods. Exhibit areas are being bought by owners to the public. During a trade fair, if the entrepreneur fails to impress the retailer, then the number of sales to ordinary individuals may be sufficient to persuade retailers to carry the product afterward.

Good morning class,

When it comes to marketing most people's first thoughts are commercials, flyers, ads, and reviews. There is more to it than that it can be the area where you place your business or the way you word commercials, flyers, or billboards. Some companies use word of mouth as their sole marketing technique in ways that can be good but it does not always work out. When opening a restaurant all of these factors go hand in hand you cannot have one without the other. If you are opening a restaurant and you have multiple of these going against you your business will not survive. But if you are able to take advantage of some of these marketing skills you have a great chance to make it. A majority of marketing campaigns (or at least the most successful ones) are based on a thorough understanding of the principles of human behavior ( Andriendko, 2015). For example, one of the restaurants I worked for was a BBQ place with good food but the owner was new to this type of this business. The location was horrible and the owner solely depended on word of mouth for marketing. There were no advertisements, no flyers, and the location was tucked away in a back corner where unless you knew this place existed you did not know it was there. Within a year the place went out of business. The current company I work for uses marketing to its advantage. One of the things it does is using wording in its marketing, for example, the food we make is clean which means we do not use any preservatives in any of our products. When people hear this they automatically think healthy food, yes it is better for you because the food does not have any additives but healthy is not always the case. Yes, if you order a salad it will be healthy but if you have the broccoli cheddar soup with a flatbread pizza I think healthy just went out the window. But that is marketing.

Another marketing strategy that some places use is coupons. I despise this in many places but especially in restaurants. The reason I despise them comes down to plain ole if you giving something away then you are not making money. There is an exception to this strategy. If there is a product you are not selling you can use a coupon or a promotion for the purpose of pushing this product. For example, when you go out to eat and you have finished your meal the waiter/waitress comes over to your table and asks if you would like dessert. In most cases, you would say no because you are full and ready to go home. I know as an owner or manager that at the end of the night the majority of the unused desserts will get thrown away. so I am going to lose money. I print out coupons that say with every entre you get a dessert for half price. Let's say that only half of the customers that come in take advantage of this offer. That is less money for me going in the trash and I made more money by upselling my dessert as a discount because the customer felt that they were getting a deal. Another way restaurants do this is by giving a free dessert if their food gets messed up. We do not have to throw the dessert away at the end of the night and the customer got a free dessert and come back and give the restaurant a second chance. All in all, marketing can make or break your business it just depends on how you decide to use it. Do you take advantage of the possibilities of marketing or do you just let them pass you by?
