Marketing Plan and Semester Assignment Details

The objective of this course is to enable you to:

1.    Apply fundamental marketing principles and practices as they are used in business organizations

2.    Identify and research market segments

3.    Apply the marketing mix of product, price, place, and promotion for business

4.    Differentiate the variety of marketing strategies and techniques commonly used in marketing

5.    Incorporate the importance of customer satisfaction and loyalty into an overall marketing plan

6.    Communicate effectively orally and in writing

TEAM PROJECT: This class will be divided into teams... each team will be responsible for the development & presentation of a Marketing Plan. All reports are presented orally (visual aids REQUIRED - PowerPoint format and in writing Word document.

There will be two Progress Reports during the semester that will be 10 minutes long each to be done in Powerpoint and presented to class, and Final Presentation will be 20 minutes long. Everyone on the team MUST present. Final presentations must be accompanied by a team written report (Word document) handed in just before the presentation. This project requires close teamwork amongst the people on the team. An outline of the Marketing Plan elements is attached.

GRADING FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT is based on THREE FACTORS : 1. Team Overall Marketing Plan (10%) …2. Your Individual contribution to the Marketing Plan (10%) …3. Your individual completion of a 4 page Word Summary Assessment Document to be done in Via by Watermark software at the end of the semester answering all of the questions shown below (10%) that will be graded by the Professor using a Rubric scoring (see attached):

Your Individual Summary Assessment document should be double spaced using Ariel font #10 in Via by Watermark answering these following questions in detail.

1. Give an overview on how your company markets their products in the USA

2. Explain how this has changed over the past 5 years …be specific.

3. Explain specifically how each of the following factors impact your company’s marketing activities in the USA

e. Competition

4. Explain specifically how your company’s marketing activities will change over the next 3 years for each of the following factors:

a. Product

b. Packaging
