What’s the Problem? - Drunk driving kills over 10,000 people in the United States every year (CDC,

2019). - In 2016, there were over a million arrests for driving under the influence

(CDC, 2019). - 24-29 year olds make up 20.7% of drunk driving cases (BOTS, 2020). - Anyone who travels by automobile is at risk of being affected by drunk driving.

The Solution? - Mandatory breathalyzers in all cars will decrease the amount of drunk driving

cases. - The cost of the average car breathalyzer is:

- $70 - $150 for installation (IntoxaLock, n.d.) - $60 - $90 for the equipment (IntoxaLock, n.d.) - *These fees will be irrelevant if a breathalyzer is already installed in the vehicle

- Good drivers will be able to get a discount with their insurance companies for having this device installed in their car.

Did The Test Fail? - Our test reached 141 people - We utilized outlets such as social media, mobile devices via text, and e-mail

for reaching our potential customers - 31.2% liked the idea of in-car breathalyzers as a mandatory safety feature in

new cars - 34% have an overall favorable opinion on in-car breathalyzers - After examining the gathered data, it is safe to say, our test did NOT fail - We can safely move forward with our design
