Position: Manager for Warehouse Services Description:

Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of the basic principles of bidding and ordering large quantities of supplies Ability to manage budget and personnel Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

1. Supervise the preparation and prompt delivery and receiving of Instructional Materials, supplies, copy center services, and district mail to district facilities.

2. Maintain accurate inventory of Instructional Materials and supplies.

3. Oversee the organization and operation of all auctions of surplus assets.

4. Designate scheduling for the daily deliveries and any special needs requests.

5. Check custodial requisitions for abuse of supplies.

6. Ensure that Warehouse and District Copy Center service operations are supportive of the instructional goals of the district.

7. Requisition Instructional Materials from TEA according to student enrollment

through the duration of the school year. Confer with the Curriculum Department on specific areas of need.

8. Transfer Instructional Materials between campuses as student enrollment

changes and instructional settings change.

9. Maintain supplies during school year and place orders as needed.

10. Assess and respond to needs related to job responsibilities.

11. Inspect schools and departments and notify the appropriate supervisor of safety concerns. Follow up to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

12. Prepare, review, and revise job descriptions in warehouse.

13. Compile budgets and cost estimates based upon documented program

needs.

14. Assume responsibility for compiling, maintaining, and filing all Instructional Materials reports (required by TEA on specified dates), records, and other documents required. Maintain an accurate accounting and balance of the IMA allotment funds distributed to the District by TEA.

15. Plan and direct the inventory and stock control program for Instructional

Materials and supplies.

16. Provide the District with copiers, as needed, based on the copy ratio per student per month.

17. Organize and prepare contracts for all District copiers to be forwarded to the

CFO for approval.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES CONTINUED:

18. Renew, replace, or upgrade all copiers as contracts expire with the approval

of the CFO.

19. Work with budget managers on copy needs for entire district and monitor usage.

20. Oversee the receiving, delivery and storage of food service commodities and

dry goods.

21. Maintain and update inventory controls for Instructional Materials, office supplies, copiers, food service, mail, and central copy center.

22. Oversee the receiving, delivery, pickup, storage and documentation for

records management for the District.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise and evaluate the performance of six paraprofessional employees and twelve manual trade employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), interpret policy, procedures and data, coordinate district functions, maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Frequent district-wide and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
