1. Social Media has took the police force by storm. As human beings, when we see we dislike over and over again you start to gain hatred for whatever you are seeing. In this case, officers in the summer of 2020 was being displayed as abusers and people who take advantage of their power. We've seen it all over the social media and we seen how the world reacted; attention like this disrupts the force because of how officers now must change how they react in certain situations.

2. Media is a major influence upon our lives and can be disruptive around areas including patrol officers. Media criticism can be used for good or bad uses. There can also be people that can abuse this type of criticism. Patrol officers are always trying to protect citizens and help them in any way. Reports and accusations can be formed on the internet and police are to take responsibility for it. Only for it to be false or used for ridiculous reasons from people (entitled people, narcissists, troublemakers). Media can also be used to portray bad imagery upon patrol. Video and pictures can be painted the wrong way by viewers. Fake news can also appear which can fool people into believing these false facts. There can be also sensitive topics such as harassment, abuse, or racism used upon criticism that harms mental and emotional health. In our current time, patrol officers have received backlash from critics in the media for the incidents an employee acted upon. Media is now a home for toxic criticism.

3. Media criticism can impact on how disruptive force is increasing for patrol officers in the current environment. Patrol officers are known to protect and serve the citizens to assist them if they need help, however the perspective changes once the officer is in the media. This can affect how it reflects on the police department and how it would reflect in the community. Media can affect many people in either a positive or negative way which becomes a challenge on trust because everybody will view them differently in their own perspective. There has been made incidents which does lead to hatred against police officers. When looking at the media, you can see that an incident can ruin the perspective of a police officers and it does tarnish the department as a whole. It is a story of power on police officers holding and the power of media can really impact the way power is used by police officers. Nowadays, many tv shows implemented how police officers are impacted by social media by an incident and how it can spread fast. This affects how current and future police officers will do their job and how the public will view them.

4. Media criticism has become disruptibe force for patrol officers because of the external influences such as, the news which affects patrol officers and their experiences with stress. Investigation between police and media have shed light of a host of complaints that the officers have of journalist interferrign with investigations, lack of respect for victims, an the negative news coverage on police. When patrol officers are in urban and rulral areas now their are under scrutiny from the media and citizens. These days with a click of a button on phone devices they are constantly on watch, enable thr media to ctitize their every movement.

5. Social media has taken a huge toll on Police officers. There were police officers who abused individuals and ended up all over the news, it made a lot of people think every single police officers were bad, but that's not true. I've seen many videos where the police officers are helping people during the protests but that's not what the news shows. People were taking advantage when the police officers' brutality was showing. Patrol officers try their best to help everyone in need, but when they are getting constant hate because of rumors and fake news it's very hard on them. Patrol officers are really connected with their community, and just want to help their citizens. The media makes it seem like it's the whole department is bad, but that's not the case. Being accused of something they never did is very unfair to them, a lot of them love their job and just want to help.
