Written Paper Guidelines

Imagine that your self-assigned team of five members (there can be more or less than this number, if approved by the instructor) has been asked to conduct Competitive Intelligence about the assigned company's domestic (U.S. only) marketing activities. Create a report reviewing their use of the marketing.

1. Write the report using the Term Paper Template provided in the “Course Resources” f

Credible Sources Definition

Credible sources include:

· Sources that describe marketing activities that have taken place after January 1, 2018.

· Prominent media outlets (e.g. The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, etc.),

· Business periodicals (e.g. Forbes, Fortune, The Economist, etc.)

· Professional marketing sources (e.g. The American Marketing Association, Ad Age, Promo Magazine, AAAA website, etc.).

· Sources from the company itself (e.g. websites, social media sites, annual reports, sales literature, etc.) are only counted as ONE source for a section even though they might be cited several times.

Credible sources do NOT include personal interviews of company employees, blogs (such as marketing91.com), Wikis (including Wikipedia), student papers/presentations and discussion boards. However, such sources COULD lead to the discovery of original. credible sources. In other words, information found in Wikipedia comes from another source. Find THAT source and is it meets the credible source criteria, it can be used - just remember to cite the original source, NOT Wikipedia.

Formatting

1. As a research paper, write in the third person. (e.g. “The Company prices their products by…”) and NOT in first person (e.g. “I found that the company prices their products by…”) or second person (e.g. “When you see their products, you will notice their products are priced by…”).

2. Use 12 point, Times New Roman font (0.5 points deducted if not followed).

3. Use double spacing with 1” margins on top, bottom and sides of paper (0.5 points deducted if not followed).

4. Fill in the template cover page with your student name(s) - list the team names in alphabetical (by last name) order - and date of submission. Follow the formatting directions for each section carefully. Not formatting the content properly will result in a deduction of 0.5 points!

5. Fill in the template References section (0.5 points deducted if this section is missing, one point deducted for each section that does not follow APA guidelines).
