The person who I admired would be my department Director. In our department (Facilities Maintenance) we do not have any manager positions. I chose my Director as a person I admired, for numerous reasons: 1. He started from the bottom as a Maintenance helper and worked his way up to department senior Electrician (license). He worked and went back to school full-time, and also was a supportive husband and father. He got his degree in Business and a whole lot of other training classes in person and also online. When he came to my department, he had just been promoted to Assistant Superintendent and in a couple of years after that he was promoted to our department Director.

I think by him starting from the bottom and working his way up, it kept him grounded as in who he is and where he started at. He is really big in hiring within our department first, and striving for more, never settling for anything. He's the reason why I'm in my current position (with a 15% raise) and, also back in school.
