management discussion responses
1. "Bad" management/supervision can affect employee behavior in many ways. Bad management involves the lack of care for the team and leading a team with bad solutions. A leader must pay attention to the team for success. Some team members tend to become lost without guidance. A manager must care not only about the team but the responsibility it is in charge of. Employees could quit easily from unfair results or the manager not caring for them. Morality can also drop in the work environment. Morales are what tie a team together and guide them to make good decisions. Without proper supervision and a good manager, this could also affect productivity.
2. Bad management/ supervisors can affect employees behavior and the way that that perform duties at work. When an employee is disrespected and not appreciated it shows in their work performances and their overall well-being. I have seen over qualified employees get the job with no complaints but the way they are treated make their job perfomace laps. According to the article "Law of the Hog" There are two main ways people mishandle crucial moments of accountability. Most go silent — rather than address the problem, they ignore it, avoid it, and withdraw; other may go violent. When those are mistreat often do things to question their intergrity when it comes to work because they have been driven to that.
I have had experience with poor managment and horrible supervisors in my lifetime. What i have experienced is when you have a terrible supervior and your being bullied you dont care about the work flow. Before I couldnt wait to get to work and learn then after a while i did just enough to get to the end of the day. Management makes a huge difference within the employees and how it affects their behavior and work.
3. “Bad” management does affect employee’s behavior in many ways which can lead to negative work performance and it does create a negative work environment for employees. Problems can increase when there is bad management, and it can impact everyone in the workplace. When there is minimal to no communication between the employer and the team it can affect the productivity and success as whole which would decrease the morale of everyone in the workplace. Employees will feel more burnt out trying to work with bad management and they will be more likely to be dissatisfied with their job which will lead them to quit the job. With bad management and supervision in the company, it will increase the turnover rates and many people will not want to work for a company who has bad management and who does not set a perfect example of success. Employees will not have the chance to excel, and they will feel less motivated. The manager needs to provide guidance for employees to get the job done successfully.
4. Bad management/supervision is a key factor in a bad working environment. Management that doesnt set rules or enforce job policies will see the affect it has on an employee; in most cases employees usually tend to follow what the manager would do because they are higher up and represents more of the company. If a manager tends to slack off or not complete a certain task all the way then employees will believe that this is the correct way to work in this environment. For example, if a job policy states to wear a hair net before serving food and the manager decided not to wear one then the other employees will think its not mandatory to serve food without an hair net. Also, bad management can be shown on how an employee is treated; managers that treat their employees with respect tend to get more effort out of them. Managers that tend to disrespect employees will experience more employees pushing forward to looking for another job.
5. Bad management can affect employee behavior by reducing creativity and job satisfaction. This results in the employee being less motivated and possibly insecure about their performance. Even if an employee works on his own, their work is still supporting other duties and departments. With lower work performance, the work environment may also reduce performance, similar to a domino effect.
