a. A description of how you intend to encourage and respond to positive student behavior

(examples, selecting students of the week, or sending a congratulatory note home)

When it comes to encouraging and responding to positive student behaviors, I will be doing a

few things. The first thing I will have is Bucket Fillers. When a student is caught doing

something good, they get an item to stick in their bucket, When the bucket is full, they will

receive a Bucket Filler certificate and a small prize. Another thing I will be doing f in my class

is having a student of the week. Every week a new student will be chosen for student of the

week. To be student of the week, the students will have to shown respect to others and have been

a hard worker when it comes to their class work.

b. A plan for students that are behaving negatively in your class.

When it comes to student who are behaving negatively in my class the first thing, I will do is

give them a warning. If the student continues, they will be sent to the calm down area. If the

calm down area does not work, then a phone call home will be made. If a student has multiple

occurrences for the same behavior, I will send the student to the office for a more severe

consequence. I will also be in contact with the student’s parent to see if we can figure out what

is causing the negative behaviors. Also, when it comes to behaviors if the behavior is being

cause by something that I can change within the classroom I will also make that change. For

example, they have trouble sitting next to a particular student, I will change seats around. I will

be addressing behaviors as the arise and trying to find the best solution. For more extreme

behaviors I will follow school policy and procedures.

c. What techniques are you going to use to maximize the effectiveness of your classroom

management?

When is comes to techniques to maximize the effectiveness of my classroom management, the

first thing I will be doing is ensuring I build a relationship with my students. I will reward my

class when they have deserved it. Another technique that I will be doing is making sure all rules

are displayed so that students can see what is expected of them. I will let the students have input

on the classroom rules. I will be making good report phone calls to parents. I will make sure I am

prepared and organized every day I come to work. I will be address negative behaviors as they

arise. When it come to the negative behavior I will try and find the root of the problem and find a

reasonable solution.
