A subsystem can be described as a selected small group of employees whose focus is to help or facilitate bigger corporate systems teams to achieve a particular goal by sharing primary concerns and coming up with the best ways to solve the problem (Smith, 2014). Besides assisting the said bigger executive team, the subsystem facilitates various activities geared towards helping society members, especially families that may need basic needs (Smith, 2014).
Establishing a strong, well-organized structured team enables one to accomplish particular responsibilities more proficiently than struggling with such tasks individually. Teamwork is vital in an organization as it allows individuals to interact and make bonds with one another. An organization can be contemplated as a group of individuals that often operate jointly like a corporation, neighborhood association, or charity (Child, 2018). A leader in any group association must assign duties and manage the entire group, just like in the short video. Also, for the team to render success there must be a definite structure whereby different individuals are ranked and offered other responsibilities to perform based on their capabilities. Working together as a team brings in each member's perspective, experiences, and skills to resolve particularly complicated problems encountered within the group and establish ideas beyond a single individual's scope.
The team has been given the task of effectively providing a fundraiser for The Jones's Family. The Jones Family is a family of 5. The team will provide food and diapers for three months. Creating the functional subsystems will be essential as part of the planning team's preparation to ensure that the fundraising campaign comes out successful as anticipated.
The fundraising subsystems
As mentioned, the core of subsystems is to assist the bigger team in accomplishing specific goals. To properly execute the task, subsystems will be created to assist in implementing a fundraising program to help the entire family for three months (Smith, 2014). The first subsystem is the planning team, whose leading roles will be creating well-structured and elaborate strategies and objectives of the fundraising team. Additionally, the planning team will also be essential in establishing a structured workflow plan used in the entire exercise and provide continuous guidance to other subtypes to work towards a single objective of raising funds for the Jones family.
There are also fieldworker's subsystems, which will consider as the second subsystem. For effective fundraising campaigns to be realized, the fieldworker's subsystem will be equally important to facilitate the process by coordinating with the planning team to help whenever need be. The planning team will guide the fieldworkers on the best strategies to deploy when executing their roles (Owen & Akinc, 2014). Field workers should have the ability to understand and follow all the instructions as required to deliver fundraising complain effectively. In this case, the fieldworker's will handle the marketing. Marketing will promote the fundraiser through all social media platforms such as Facebook, flyers, and event promotions. The third subsystem is the public relations team; they will create and execute a media outreach plan, beginning with the local media. Their primary role in this fundraising drive is to ensure the campaign successfully and help manage public relations. They will also uphold the campaign's image towards fundraising to win society's heart and The Jones Family. Proper management of public relations will ensure that the community members positively contribute to the fundraiser. Finally, there will be a resource management team subsystem whose duties will be arranging and providing necessary resources for the fundraising team. It also organizes the provision of what might be needed to facilitate a fundraising campaign. These individual(s) will keep all subsystem teams in sync and operate as a resource for any individual struggling with ways of asking for donations.
Conclusion
The reason for choosing these subsystems is to facilitate the easy execution of duties and provide a workflow that is easy to coordinate for the success of a fundraising campaign to be realized (Bannister, 2015). As mentioned above, all the subsystems would conjointly work to ensure that The Jones's Family gets assistance to meet its daily needs for the next three months. Subsystems allow individuals and teams to brainstorm fundraising ideas and make proficient collective decisions (Filo, 2017). Hence this assists in effectively and completes the fundraising task.
