Children anxiety aged 3-11
Anxiety disorders are prevalent in children. Generalized anxiety disorder is pervasive in children aged between 3-11 years. Feeling nervous in some situations is common, particularly when life becomes demanding. However, having extreme and enduring anxiety that cannot be controlled indicates that a person is suffering from GAD (Huang, & Zhao, 2020). GAD is differentiated by unrelenting and extreme worry about various things. People suffering from this condition are unable to control their fears. These people will typically overthink tactics and way out to all possible worst-case scenarios, perceive events and situations as frightening even when they are not. They have difficulty letting the worry go and difficulty handling uncertainty.
To help this patient overcome this condition, a combination of pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy will help reduce the symptoms and improve his quality of life. CBT is essential in assisting the patients to be aware of their distorted cognitive behaviors through following structured sessions (Villabø, et al., 2018). During this therapy, the patients and the care provider will set measurable goals that will be used to monitor the patient's progress. Comment by Richard Mendelson: You did well on this introduction. Good job!
For medications, the patient can take fluoxetine 10-20mg daily. This medicine works by inhibiting the uptake of serotonin by nerve cells, thus helping the patient to be able to manage their symptoms. FDA accredits this medication in GAD treatment. The patient will improve his initial symptoms after taking the medication. After four weeks, the evaluation will then be done to assess whether there is any positive change in terms of the symptoms presented (Levy, et al., 2018). This will then help adjust the medication either up or down depending on the outcomes.
Older adults’ depression program aged 65 and above Comment by Richard Mendelson: You really need more than one section heading in this document. You should have a. Section for each of the content areas required by the rubric,.
Depression is a disorder affecting people’s moods. This makes the patients have relenting feelings of sadness and interest loss. The condition is capable of leading to a variety of emotional and physical problems. This makes the patients suffering from this condition experience many troubles carrying out their daily activities. This would result from guilt, regret, embarrassment, or disgrace. Identification of these conditions during the initial stages and treatment is essential since it helps prevent and reduce these cases in the future. If left untreated, the condition poses a considerable risk to increased chances of suicide. Therefore, it is essential to diagnose these conditions in good time and offer treatment as this is the only way to handle them.
It is essential first to understand the complexities of this condition, its diagnosis, and its treatment. A better understanding of the condition helps healthcare professionals offer innovative leadership ideas to help handle this condition.
As far as the treatment of depressive disorders is concerned, a combination of medication and psychotherapy is the first line of treatment. These treatments help in keeping the diseases and control and minimizing the chances of relapse. Therefore, it is essential to get the root cause of these disorders to find long-lasting treatment and help in slowing these mental illnesses. Furthermore, treating these conditions early enough reduces the severity of mental illnesses and helps in improving the overall health of the patient.
Pharmacological interventions are critical if the depressive behaviors are high and the adaptive and maladaptive responses cannot handle the situation. Prescribed medications have a significant role in the treatment of psychological disorders. This is because they help in the reduction of symptoms. SSRIs are especially the treatment of major depressive disorder. SSRI can block the dopamine reuptake pump. These medications, therefore, work through dopamine neurotransmission increase. Serotonergic agents are critical in easing the psychological symptoms that the patients are suffering from this condition experience.
Zoloft is an excellent example of SSRI used in the treatment of this condition. Zoloft boosts neurotransmitter serotonin and thus its effect on these patients. The FDA supports this medication in treating mental disorders because it has fewer side effects than other medications. This medication’s effect takes place very fast within two weeks. Zoloft is considered adequate as the SSRI and is therefore used as the first treatment for this condition. It has less severe side effects than those of tricyclic antidepressants.
