1. View the positive authentication results for www.google.com. Use SnadBoy’s Revelation tool to see the actual password behind the asterisks.

 Download the data files in Chapter 4 in MindTap, or navigate to Chapter 4 of the Student

Resource Center.

 Navigate to directory SnadBoy Revelation.

 Install and launch the RevelationV2 program.

 Open Internet Explorer and go to http://www.hotmail.com.

 On the logo screen that displays ******* in the Password field, drag and drop the circled

cursor into the ******* box.

 The password is displayed on the screen.

2. Use Password Recovery Time Simulator to estimate the time that it will take to recover a password.

 Download the data files in Chapter 4 in MindTap, or navigate to Chapter 4 of the Student

Resource Center.

 Install and launch the program Password Recovery Time Simulator.

 Type any password and click Calculate to see the time it takes to crack it.

3. Use the RAR Password Cracker program to recover lost passwords for RAR/WinRAR archives.

 Download the data files in Chapter 4 in MindTap, or navigate to Chapter 4 of the Student

Resource Center.

 Install and launch the RAR Password Cracker program.

 Click the Load RAR archive button to load the zip file from the computer.

 Click the Add to project button to add the zip file to the project.

 Choose one of the following methods and then click Next.

 Add a file into the dictionary file.

 Save the project into a file and then click the Finish button.

 The output of RAR Password Cracker is shown in Figure 4-10.
