In my paper I will primarily speak to local law makers that would have the authority to consider and make appropriate changes that will be discussed. My secondary audience would appeal more towards justices of the court and law enforcement. “Drug courts are usually managed by a nonadversarial and multidisciplinary team including judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, community corrections, social workers and treatment service professionals” (NIJ.gov, n.d.). By engaging with and partnering with interagency forces, drug courts can become more effective than they are currently. “Freewriting, a writing strategy developed by Peter Elbow in 1973, is similar to brainstorming but is written in sentence and paragraph form without stopping” (MIT.edu, n.d.). Freewriting is the best way to get all of your thoughts out on paper, while trying to formulate the item you are writing about. I have utilized this throughout my years in college with much success in writing strategies. “Freewriting is one way to begin to write before any formal decisions about topic or purpose have been made” (E.,2014). I have tried using mind mapping before, but when I go to put my information down in paper form it sometimes confuses me by using the diagram.
