My chosen publication is from E! Entertainment; the title reads as follows: "Kendall Jenner Tops Gisele Bündchen to Become 2017's Highest-Paid Model." The writing is from November 21st and is written by reporter Jess Cohen. It talks about how Patriot's QB Tom Brady is no longer married to the highest paid supermodel since that of Kendall Jenner has surpassed Gisele Bundchen's salary with earnings of $22 million this year.

After exploring the website of E! Entertainment, reviewing the profiles of those who write for the entity such as Jess Cohen, Lauren Piester, and Chris Harnick; I believe a person wishing to work for this publication should possess experience, creativity, and an innate curiosity for entertainment news. "Now that news can come from so many different sources and producers; it's not sufficient to say that news is what one finds in the newspaper or sees on the 6 o'clock TV news." (Armstrong, McAdams, & Cain, 2015). Some people consider entertainment as news; some don't.

Many of those writing for E! Entertainment have an old hobby related to writing besides their journalist spirit that makes a connection with the type of job they perform. Their personality also plays an essential role on the online participation since spontaneity and originality are critical for this media outlet along with their curiosity and team player spirit which is requested at the career center of the site for those who wish to work here. "Entertainment coverage, like most other news, has also become more prevalent online." (Reed, 2015).

Writing for these types of entertainment news often involves goals like reaching for huge audiences. As in most media outlets, especially those not related to "serious" report, the headline and the story itself is intended to have a shocking impact on the audience. This fact drives the writer to mention names not directly related to the story as in cases where the name of famous people is said even though the story isn't about them.
