Week 4 Topic OptionsSelect a Topic - Option 1, 2, or 3, then  choose at least two content areas for your discussion . Example: Topic 2 - Employee Records & Mandatory H.R. Documents - you decide to discuss federal requirements for licensed roles and HR department survey compliance.

Topic Option 1 - Legal and Regulatory Environment: Specific employment laws/major U.S. H.R. legislation; major employment statutes; federal and/or state staffing requirements by facility and/or service type with reporting requirements; worker safety laws; CMS and other applicable regulatory bodies' survey requirements for H.R. processes, procedures, and protocols. 

Topic Option 2 - Employee Records & Mandatory H.R. Documentation: Screenings and background checks; federal and/or state H.R. personnel regulatory and required personnel file documentation; federal and/or state specific requirements for licensed roles; credentialing; CMS and State Survey Preparation and Compliance for the H.R. department/personnel. 

Topic Option 3 - H.R. Training, Professional Development, & Retention: Mandatory training requirements by facility and/or service type; in-service hours; continuing education; abuse and neglect training; coaching and personal development processes; employee relations; turnover and retention; specialized roles for staffing such as staffing coordinator or retention specialist; and H.R. factors for organizational culture.
