It is with great pleasure that I offer my highest recommendation for SSG Wakasa to the Warrant Officer Corps.
As a Non-Commissioned Officer in United States Army Priority Air Transport (USAPAT) Command, he has proven to be capable of accomplishing any tasks placed before him. SSG Wakasa is an outstanding NCO who has displayed the highest level of integrity, motivation, professional bearing and an unparalleled ability to inspire Soldiers. While on mission, he inspired and recruited two highly qualified NCOs to this broadening assignment opportunity. His attitude and desire to accomplish any missions will serve him well as a Warrant Officer in today's Army.
During his four years in USAPAT, he organized and provided essential assistant to many diversity management trainings for the Battalion as the Equal Opportunity Leader. SSG Wakasa participated as well as inspired nine Soldiers to signed up and finished four consecutive Army Ten-Milers and competed for the first Sergeant Major of the Army (SMA) Battle Challenge in Washington, DC. SSG ** was selected over 22 NCOs to be the Battalion General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) NCOIC, led two accounting NCOs and trained a Civilian Comptroller. His superior support and sound judgment was instrumental in mission accomplishment during many highly visible and complex missions in extreme weather conditions. His actions and dedication to duty reflect great credit upon the Army Aviation Brigade.
As a USAPAT Flight Steward, SSG Wakasa constantly demonstrates excellent management skills, problem-solving expertise, superb military bearing, and strong leadership during the most complex CONUS/ OCONUS missions. SSG ** has always faced new challenges with bravery and tenacity, but most importantly, with the utmost confidence in his abilities and understanding of basic Soldier skills, as well as Army policies and regulations. Being part of an organization such as USAPAT where he provides worldwide support to senior Army leaders, he truly shed a light on his character and intellect. You will find a well-rounded professional who understands the value of lifelong learning in SSG **. By accepting him into the Warrant Officer Corps, he will provide outstanding leadership attribute and strong work ethic to the corps. He is a dependable self-starter and will complete any tasks above and beyond standards. I wholeheartedly recommend SSG __ to be selected into the Warrant Officer Corps. SSG __ not only already the possesses the management skills to be successful in the Warrant Officer Corps but more importantly possesses the positive traits, character, and motivation to excel well beyond the standard. This is directly evident in his exemplary performance here at United States Army Priority Air Transport (USAPAT) Command under the conditions in very similar tasks in the Army's only executive jets.
I have known SSG Wakasa for over 16 months and have personally flown many times with him while he performed duties as a Flight Steward during missions transporting the Secretary of the Army, DOD senior leaders and Tier 2 travelers. I have witnessed his attention to mastering his craft, his untiring work ethic, and his professionalism. He recently graduated from Senior Leader Course with the Iron Soldier Award and received Superior ratings. SSG Wakasa was selected over all other NCOs at the Battalion to be the Battalion General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) NCOIC. His ability to
adapt and learn this logistics tasks that requires self-discipline and extreme attention to detail, SSG______ has now added a logistical skill set. SSG ____ served as a the Battalion's retention NCO. He flawlessly completed all of documents needed to complete Soldiers for their re-enlistments.
