NURS 497 Professional Nursing SMART GOALS
Directions: Write 2 long-term and 3 short-term goals (or vice versa) professional nursing SMART goals. Each goal must be written in the SMART format and include a month and year deadline. In addition, each SMART goal must include 3 Action Steps that need to be accomplished to meet the goal. SMART goals must be related ONLY to your professional nursing career development and growth.

Maintaining regular interaction with my NCLEX coach to confirm my readiness. 3. Making certain that the exam fee is paid in a timely manner. |

SMART Goal (Month/Year): To enlist in the American Association for Critical-Care Nurses) in September/2023. Action Items: 1. Perform a thorough research on the organization and gather data on the requirements for membership. 2. Deciding the best membership plan for me. 3. I will register in order to become a member. |

SMART Goal (Month/Year): Completing the course to acquire a critical care nurse certification (CCRN) by June/2026. Action Items: 1. I will enroll for the course. 2. I will maintain both work and school. 3. To improve my reasonable abilities, I will continually ask for clarity. |

SMART Goal (Month/Year): By April/2027 after having 4 years of working as a registered nurse, I would like to work in the rural areas. Action Items: 1. The first thing on the list is to do research on different outreach programs. 2. Enroll in a program that improves healthcare delivery in rural areas. 3. Familiarizing myself with the issues patients are facing in the rural area. |

Long Term Goal 5 Becoming a nurse anesthetist |
SMART Goal (Month/Year): To become a nurse anesthetist by June/2028. Action Items: 1. An experienced of 3 years’ is required. 2. Passing the Doctor of Nursing practice program. 3. Obtaining a National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA). 4. Attain a state license for Nurse Practitioners. |
