Marijuana legalization – a step to challenge the national issue.

Many people are concerned that marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco are the gateways of substances; however, in fact, marijuana is much safer than alcohol. Marijuana has many positive attributes such as relief of pain, seizures, and many other symptoms for people who have not been treated successfully. By prohibiting marijuana, the U.S federal government is causing more problems than it is solving. Legalizing this drug would clear up many issues that exist on the planet, and would be advantageous to companies, the federal government, and society. In addition, many marijuana users are willing to fight against marijuana prohibition as the cost of the war on drugs has become the social mechanism that disenfranchises, especially on blacks and other people of color. As a result, African-Americans and vast minorities are most likely targeted for marijuana crimes that result in social inequality (Berlatsky, 2012). The truth following marijuana is that it is not just a drug used for recreational purposes, but rather it is also used for medicinal purposes as a pain reliever, seizures, and many other symptoms for people who have not been treated successfully. Despite it is being beneficial in the medical context, the behave of people using this drug could introduce to the world of drugs where they connected to the black-web of drug dealers who have other harder drugs to offer to the youths such as cocaine, and heroin. Additionally, according to various studies, it has been observed that the people who use this drug are more likely to socialize with other drug by using peers in the setting that provides more opportunities of using drugs at an early age. Even though, Marijuana abuse has been linked with increased risks of depression, anxiety and other forms of mental problems, some people such as Colleen Barry believed that marijuana along with alcohol and tobacco is a gateway of the drug, a drug whose use increases the risk of the subsequent use (Collen Barry, 2016). Collen also said “ Marijuana did not establish the causal mechanisms by which marijuana might influence overdose deaths”. Some others people believed that marijuana is much safer than alcohol. In fact, harmful alcohol and cigarettes are way more detrimental to human physique and health than marijuana. Statistic has showed that around eighty-five-thousand deaths arise every year due to alcohol poisoning, and greater than four hundred and thirty five-thousand deaths occur because of tobacco smoking. For this reason, marijuana is much safer than alcohol and cigarettes; it has more positive attributes such as increased appetite, and it may be used as an antidepressant (Caulkins & Hawken, 2010). In addition, marijuana is far much less dangerous than half of the drugs in the black market. The probability of marijuana addiction is not high. Psychological dependence is possible; however, some people do become chronic users. Marijuana has been widespread throughout the world in recorded history, both as medicine for  pain, nausea and as a recreational drug (Caulkins & Hawken, 2010).  On Deborah Peterson perspective,  she believes that keeping marijuana illegal is expensive. She said “Legalizing it protects their ability to do so without fear of punishment. And for those who develop a substance dependency, marijuana regulation will generate revenue to support drug treatment for those who need and want it”. (Deborah Peterson, 2016). In fact, The U.S government spends billion dollars every year just to keep housing, health care, and other expenses to those, who smoke marijuana. Prohibition does not help; just like alcohol, people still getting the drink and causing a lot of troubles later. Legalized marijuana would reduce the flow of money from international criminal gangs, and offer economic benefit for the U.S in billion dollars by saving money from the foreign underground economy (Bello, 2015). If legalized, marijuana can boost American through taxation, and this can be used to support the national government programs. State governments would acquire new sources of tax revenue from regulating the sale of marijuana, and the tax revenue from marijuana is estimated at 45 billion dollars (Caroline, 2013). Without legalization, the government tax authorities miss out on tax revenues, which would slip to other foreign countries. Some people fear that legalization would cause an increase of market consumption, but overall, this would give top-down economic by improving local communities, state, the federal government, and saving the government substantial dollars in wasted law enforcement. It also provides job opportunities to all American people by reducing unemployment rates. Employment will not be a limitation as soon as this new drug industry has been managed. With such capital investments waiting, and the production of employment specified, drug purchasers or cultivators can be equated to sales-persons or business people. The excessive demand for marijuana will probably be met with governments gaining from taxes and licenses from the farmers. There shall be no extra drugs trafficking of marijuana, but instead, transport businesses to make the most of profits. This multi-billion dollar industry will never fail the economic climate; once it's regulated (Caulkins & Hawken, 2010). Currently, the U.S government is at a loss easily, because it is already a growing industry that they don't seem to be gaining from. Finally, on my perspective, Marijuana legalization should be passed by Congress because there are more than only 40 bills floating in the U.S government. Many representatives are willing to fight for social justice of marijuana prohibition as they believe in the fundamental values of American society. American marijuana prohibition is rooted in the early 20th century after Mexican immigrants brought cannabis with them. Fear and depression linked using marijuana with violence, crime, and other social behaviors. For this reason, Anti-marijuana proposal soon issued that black and other colors people are mostly targeted in a hundred year later. African-Americans are far most likely to get arrested and incarcerated for marijuana possession that as a result, it caused social inequality. Conclusion

To conclude, despite marijuana being beneficial in the medical context, by people using this drug, they may be introduced to the world of drugs where they connected to the black-web of drug dealers who have other harder drugs to offer to the youths such as cocaine, and heroin. Finally, many marijuana users are willing to stand up for challenging the national issue of marijuana prohibition, because the cost of the war on marijuana causes social inequality.

If marijuana gains the approval of  Congressman to be regulated and taxed like other items such as alcohol and tobacco, it will grow to be a product with fiscal and medical advantages. Firms concerned within the manufacture and packaging of the drug will adhere to all executive and federal standards. These will likely incorporate proper labels such as ingredients and disclaimers positioned on packages to recommend and warn customers of its contents (Tardiff, 2008).
